Gary Danielson who commentates SEC games with Verne Lunquivst (sp) was on the Dan Patrick show today and said that he would leave ND out of his top 4 if there was a playoff this year. Some of the **** i'm reading and hearing doesn't make any ****ing sense.
I HATE Gary Danielson! Living with a Gators fan I've watched plenty of SEC games and Danielson is a hack. Just a horrible announcer and he so obviously jock rides for Alabama all the time it's sickening. I care about his opinion about as much as I want to get a root canal.

It is the SEC announcers you are talking about.

Watching ESPNU today makes me want to vomit... this sh*t is bordering on a conspiracy. At best, this is the worst case of group think I have ever seen and ND is getting hurt by how many eye balls see us "struggle" versus how many watched KSU need a 4th and goal stop to beat Iowa State. Anyways... here are some odds for the weekend.

KSU: 78%
Oregon: 91.5%
ND: 94%

So shockingly KSU has a MUCH greater chance of losing to lowly 4-5 Baylor per Vegas than Oregon does of losing to Stanford....

Odds of either Oregon or KSU losing = 29%... so we have a puncher's chance of seeing one of them go down.
Just imagine if ISU could have beat them! God we could have avoided this whole mess.

Jimbo whining about the computers and says "something has to be done" to fix it. What he doesn't say should be done is to stop scheduling two FCS opponents. LOL
Florida State Seminoles' Jimbo Fisher wants move back to pre-BCS system - ESPN

And start winning games over vastly inferior teams.

Clemson is their only quality win, and Clemson has played no one.

Try listening to Paul Finebaum when local sports radio talk and Mad Dog is on commercial break. It's horrifying.

Paul Finebaum is Jerry Springer on the radio. There is no effing way the people that "call" into his show are real.

If there's even a 1% chance the "callers" really feel what they say, I don't wanna live on this planet anymore......

I work in Montgomery, AL. These folks are real as hell. Let's call my job "social work". These people are who I have to interact with on a daily basis. I really don't even know how to describe how bad they are. Growing up, you're forced into choosing...Alabama vs Auburn. Regardless of who you are, you CAN NOT pick somebody else. Its absolutely sickening sometimes. It's bad enough that I don't even tell my supervisors. It's bad enough that I got told FL would rip us a new one in a BCS game

As much as I hate to admit it, I have been spending time in the comment sections on ESPN. The reasoning for this is simple...

We need to do our part to get our message out to the ignorant masses. I have already seen a drastic change in the comment sections I have been posting in because most of the posters are simply uneducated about Notre Dame and why we deserve to be playing in the title game if we go undefeated.

Do your part... this is no time for apathy...

Me too Wooly, me too. We have to drill it into their skulls that ND will have beaten all of the teams considered KState and Oregon's "signature wins" if all 3 win out. If ND's SOS is "a myth" according to Brad Edwards then so is KState's. WVU, TTech, and OkState have been exposed more so than Michigan or Stanford.

Good lord. I'm sorry. If I couldn't engage in CFB discussion while at work I don't know what I would do.

I can hardly discuss it at my work. There are a few level headed guys who I enjoy talking with but there are a lot of delusional SEC fanboys that I simply will not discuss football with. The same holds true with politics unfortunately.

The amount of blind hating is utterly insane. I never really understood the concept of a Notre Dame "hater" until we got good again. Last time we were good (2005, 2006) I was a student and didn't pay any attention to writers/media personalities.

The amount of pure bias people are allowed to get away with is utterly insane.

This is another reason why the BCS rankings show is ridiculous, and I rep Herby for remaining the most objective analyst out there.

David Pollack - Georgia alum
Jesse Palmer - Florida alum
Rece Davis - 'Bama alum

Pollack straight up said we would be easily beaten by any team in the top 10.

I've generally not been one for "they're biased against us" arguments. But it's getting ridiculous. This one today was particularly insulting.

NCF - Debating whether the SEC winner should play for the BCS title - ESPN

Mel Kiper saying we'd lose to any good SEC team on a neutral field, and that a one-loss SEC team should play for the title no matter what. Todd McShay, the other party in the "debate," kind of says "Eh. Time for a playoff."
Blech.

This is crazy because the SEC is an absolute joke this year. They're getting their sh*t pushed in by a middling Big 12 team. Florida... a one loss team... is struggling with the likes of Louisiana Lafayette. The bottom half of the conference is arguably the worst of any conference in the entire country. There are practically no quality wins outside of conference for any team... the lone exception being Alabama over Michigan.

Louisiana Tech, who is on par with teams like Virginia, would arguably be one of the top teams in the SEC.

I heard that same thing before the OU game. What happened there? These analysts need to get their heads out of their/eachothers' asses.

I haven't found Jesse Palmer to be negative toward ND. Am I just not watching enough of him? Pollack, on the other hand, was a jerk last night on the BCS show, though he did keep Florida out of the teams he said would beat ND.

Yeah Palmer isn't bad I guess. I have never really heard him say anything too outlandish. I remember him saying we would struggle to win games if we didn't start Tommy Rees after Stanford, but they obviously don't watch the players as much as we do.

That's because he's a Georgia alum.

Screw Kiper. He should just stick with his "Big Board" and go back to giving crappy draft analysis.

That's weird. I always thought Kiper to actually provide good feedback on ND football. He loved Jimmy, but I guess that was surrounding Draft stock and not really the team in general.

I was going to stay far away from this thread after I saw the reaction to yesterdays BCS rankings, but I thought you guys might want to have a discussion about this with someone with a different perspective.

So I can point out a few things you guys are not seeing good and bad or you can say shut up ALLGATOR and I will go back to lurking this thread and letting you guys rant.

Remember that ESPN has a $2 billion + investment in the SEC, but they get very little of the money ND rakes in. So they have every incentive to politik us out of the MNC.

It's no accident that every talking head on the network suddenly seems to be spewing poorly reasoned anti-ND agitprop. They've simply been told to look out for their employer's best interests.

College football is really just becoming politics: it's all about the money. Find the moneymen at the end of the trail and it will explain why things are so in politics and CFB. It's sad really.
