Kind of on a separate note: does anyone else remember the 1998 Baylor-ND game in South Bend? The post-game handshake between Bob Davie and Dave Roberts was the most insincere encounter I think I've ever seen.

Me and a friend were talking college football last week and we both said in so many words how in the %$#@ do some of these teams start to win big so fast after having down year after down year. Baylor/TCU/Tenn/ole Miss/etc. Baylors got the formula baby.

There was a time I'd have argued...but the culture in some of these places is pretty abhorrent. You cannot collect men of questionable character, clearly possessing serious aggression and physical prowess, and fail to guide them.

As a coach, you better have a formula for building a winning culture that ensures you do not become FSU/Bobby Bowden...because this isn't 1993. Art Briles just learned that lesson....though he may not yet know it.

TCU only lost more tnan two games twice since 2005. The drug scandal in 2012 cast a cloud and was an aberration. Only three players have been arrested in the four subsequent years. In two of those, the charges were dropped. Just saying they are not in Baylor's league.

Over the last four years, LSU has had eight players arrested for felonies - domestic battery, battery, breakins, theft, bar fights, etc. Two players had multiple arrests before they were dismissed.

One of the reasons is they will bring in Jr. college kids. Many with questionable character.

Baylor fired Ken Starr.

Briles should be next, but he won't be. What a joke.

They have to make it 'look' like they were handling the issue. When what really should happen is anyone/everyone who had knowledge of any of the incidence and sat on their hands should be axed.

Maybe they want to leave the firing of Art to the new president. Would at least give the appearance of a no nonsense guy.

This would be funny if, . . .

No, maybe if . . .

No, not getting it. What if? . . .

Never mind, there is nothing funny about this situation;

Now an Art Briles/Perpetrator Genital Blender Frappe, at the hands of the victims?

That has much more potential for being funny.

Briles out

Oh snap!

Didn't think they'd have the balls to do it. Good for the Board of Regents to try and begin making amends, not that it could ever be done to the extent that the victims deserve.

I really started to like Briles. Reading up on the tragic death of his parents and aunt was one of those "feel good stories" about someone finding success after something so traumatic.

Now.... Just despicable.

Sounds like the report is coming out today as well. That's got to be absolutely horrible if they actually fired Briles
