I’ve been banned 3 times so far on my Nextdoor neighbor lefty leaning app but usually after a month they ask me back. Currently banned indefinitely so I am unable to see the list dog postings. 🥲

I personally don't know about people being return posters. Other mods/owners might know. Years ago it was always if you're perma-banned, you're perma-banned. Some may have been given leniency now that it's likely been years, but again, I personally wouldn't know.

Honestly I feel like every other newcomer gets accused of being a former banned poster that I can't ever tell if we actually know that or if it's just a joke. I can check to see if there are shared IPs but that can be hidden.

The problem with internet today is just using a VPN or some other internet connection to make your username. Easy to get over it.

Sometimes I wish instead of a full-on ban, we could lock every thread from posters except one, where everyone is allowed to post whatever they want, with a few true restrictions (Porn, Doxxing, credible threats/harassment). Let them just talk and argue with each other and see how bad it can get.

Call it Purgatory Pit or something. (For the banned but not yet damned). (I am not Catholic, so I hope that isn't offensive.)
