Dshans last post was October, 2017 asking for prayers for his sister who was battling cancer.

IrishYJ's disappearance was strange. We met up a couple of times and kept in touch via email talking about work. He was from Indy but lived in ATL. He didn't respond to an email so after a couple of weeks I called his work. Whomever answered the phone said he wasn't there anymore. That's the last I heard from him.

Did he look anything like this by chance?

YJ dropped in a few times in 2021/2022/2023. I think he was a bit "off" when he posted.

IIRC he wanted to join the team buying the site from the old owners and got miffed when he wasn't part of it. Then he schizo posted before crashing out.

I remember when YJ stormed the field when Ga Tech beat Fla St in Atlanta one year. He always seemed like a pretty cool person and someone you would have a beer with. Hope he is doing well.

I just read through the last 3 pages and didn't see anyone mention Bob D. We can all thank him for the modern day thunderdome because he started the first ever political thread on IE.

Also haven't seen anything from Chicago51 in years.

He did make a couple of posts. When I saw them, I messaged him on IE and sent him an email, but no response.

This. I actually spoke with him and he was having family issues like real tough stuff to deal with too at the time. Felt bad for him but then he said some shit that is hard to get past.

I met him at the Clemson game and had a good time hanging out with him. Nice guy at the time.

Back when I was a hardcore IE user from 2010-2015, I used to love my religious debates with Whiskyjack. Genuinely made IE an experience deeper than tracking which high schoolers might pick the ND hat.

I’ve never had so much fun as when it was a World Cup year and Koon was trying to understand the rules and GITF and I had him convinced the reason soccer game clocks count forward is so they can add extra time due to things that happened in the game but not the real reasons which we ended up coming up with several ridiculous things and had koon keep going on and on and on. We had him convinced that Quidditch was based on soccer and that’s why games could go on forever.

For example we had Koon convinced that this move by CR7 resulted in an additional 15 minutes to the game because the more step overs he completed added time for each and the reason they fouled him was to stop him from extending the game …..lmaoooo

Koon is much more simplistic and while I disagree with a lot of his arguments, they are obvious and super repetitive.

There are others that I have to read their posts multiple times to try to decipher what the heck they are trying to say.

SportsingHard falls into the latter category.

Sometimes I wish instead of a full-on ban, we could lock every thread from posters except one, where everyone is allowed to post whatever they want, with a few true restrictions (Porn, Doxxing, credible threats/harassment). Let them just talk and argue with each other and see how bad it can get.

Call it Purgatory Pit or something. (For the banned but not yet damned). (I am not Catholic, so I hope that isn't offensive.)
