Am I mistaken in thinking that teams have to play 8 games to be eligible for the playoff? This would put them at 6. I figured the first cancellations was in hopes of them making the Big 10 championship game as number 8, but there is no way they get to that number now.

Yeah, I hate Michigan, and they have a bigoted past in regards to Catholics...but I can acknowledge that Ohio State and Michigan hate each other even more. It's a different thing if you've lived in Ohio, or Michigan I would guess. Lot of bad blood for years over border wars and the rivalry was really ratcheted up during the Woody and Bo days. It's the biggest rivalry in college football, while we have the biggest intersectional rivalry with USC.

Thought that if either the MSU or UM game is cancelled, OSU would be ineligible. Seems very unlikely those games will both get played now.

It's a dumb rule, though. Why can't OSU just take a forfeit and count it as a game? They still hold the tiebreaker over second place, after all.

It is crazy to think that OSU's last regular season game may have fucked over the B1G's chances at the playoff by beating IU.
