Going into Kyle Field Week 1 with a OL, QB & OC & coming out with a win is HUGE.

It wasn’t pretty & we need to find a passing game but our D is elite & we’ve got some layups coming up to work on things.

This D is elite...elite. If Leonard was even average tonight we win by 30.

Weigman and Klubnic have to be the two worst starting P5 QB's....he was beyond bad. As poorly as Freeman coached the team - kudos to the S&C coach for having the guys ready...A&M was gassed and overheated.

I don’t think that was Holly Rowe. Either way, I loved Ron Franklin. Dude had a great voice & called a great game.
Oh it was

Holly Rowe incident

On October 1, 2005, during a game between Notre Dame and Purdue that Franklin was calling, sideline reporter Holly Rowe praised Purdue defensive coordinator Brock Spack for using all three timeouts on defense despite trailing by four touchdowns late in the game. "If the coaches are giving up," Rowe added, "What does that say to the players?" Franklin responded, "Holly, it's not giving up. It's 49–21, sweetheart."[5][6]

Unrelated to the game I love Brock Spack.

damn, I could’ve sworn it was another…much better looking gal. My bad.

Guess I was more focused on Brock Space’s WTF look.

I had to look it up & now it makes sense. I was thinking of Jeannine Edwards who he also called sweetheart which was right before his termination.

Jeannine Edwards incident

After a production meeting prior to ESPN's telecast of the Chick-fil-A Bowl on December 31, 2010, Franklin addressed sideline reporter Jeannine Edwards in a condescending tone as "sweet baby"; when she objected, Franklin called her an "asshole". The incident was reported to ESPN by Ed Cunningham, and ESPN tried to pull Franklin from the Chick Fil-A coverage that night but was unable; instead, Franklin was removed from ESPN Radio's coverage of the 2011 Fiesta Bowl the following day.[8][9]

Franklin apologized for his remarks the following Monday and said he deserved to be pulled from the Fiesta Bowl. However, ESPN fired Franklin the following day; in a statement, ESPN noted, "Based on what occurred last Friday, we have ended our relationship with him."[1]

Telling us you picked the Irish elsewhere is retroactively trying to hedge your A&M bet here lol

Ummm freeman was literally asking someone “do I kick a fg here?” … if you need someone to tell you that, yeah you aren’t there yet
It's possible to root for the Irish, celebrate when they win, and still think Freeman doesn't have it as a head coach.

More than one thing can be true at the same time.

Personally, I am excited for the win. Glad Freeman has good O & D coaches around him. But I'm still not convinced he will make it as a head coach. Would love to be proven wrong, but nothing I've in his first two seasons or this game convinces me its going to happen
