And most, if not all; of the coaches from that staff are now gone. Only folks living in the past on this game are meathead Twitter warriors.
It's for the fans. The majority of the people involved with the program probably don't even know the circumstances of that game and that it even happened. They probably know Catholics vs Convicts more than anything.

If they were ready for TAMU a year ago, they'll be ready for this one.

My early prediction is somewhere in the 27-17 range for the good guys. I think it will be a relatively quick game because both teams want to establish the run and that could keep the score down. Anyone know what the over/under is?

52.5 is the O/U. I believe the line opened at -1.5 for us and is now -2.5, which includes giving Miami 3 points for being the home team.

How do their DEs stack up against ours? And if you were ranking the top 6 LBs between Notre Dame and Miami, how would you rank them? Same with DEs?

Can anyone do this objectively? I know so little about their defense.

I have read nothing but this board glazing this team. They’re either a legit Top 10 team or they’re just blindly drinking the Kool Aid. Only thing that honestly scares me is their OL giving Beck all the time which could be bad.

Ash is absolutely going to send pressure. There’s no reason to only send 4-5 with our secondary.

Just picked up my copy of Phil Steele yesterday, and he has the units ranked nationally as follows:

D-Line:
ND - 4 - notes they're loaded with depth and potential and should have a heavy rotation of quality guys especially at edge
Miami - 11 - Notes that Rueben Bain is a stud but less depth

LB:
ND - 3 - predicts Bowen/Sneed to start in heavy rotation with Ausberry and KVA, who he says would start for most schools
Miami - 26 - seems like they have some upperclassmen with late round draft grades, but no studs

Other unit rankings you didn't ask about
QB: ND 64, Miami 9
RB: ND 2, Miami 16
Receivers: ND 14, Miami 23
O-line: ND 3, Miami 6
DBs: ND 1, Miami 24
ST: ND 11, Miami 67

Agreed. But that means they have to get to the QB. Now they don’t have OSU level of WR talent but it’s tough to cover all day.

This is another key factor I always forget. Miami’s ST unit was dreadful last year outside of their Kicker. I always say you need to take 2 of OFF/DEF/ST in order to win a game. I like our odds

In the fairly limited reading I've done on that Miami board, they seem to have a ton of belief in their corners but also think safety could be a weakness

It’s a numbers game. If Notre Dame sends 6 then they’ll have to keep a RB/TE to block. I think our extra rusher (Sneed, KVA, etc) can win against their extra blocker at a pretty decent clip.

Their kicker is gone now and they brought in the kicker from Texas who was only 64% on FGs last year

Fair point. What helps me sleep is Freeman has never looked unprepared in any big game.

They think this Rutgers transfer is the truth. Say he is tough. And they really, really like their corners. Lucas, the Wisconsin transfer, and a sophomore that had a really good freshman year. Agree that safety appears to be a spot they don't discuss as much. Strength is definitely along the lines and Beck.

Toure was a stud in my Rutgers online dynasty in CFB 25 so there’s probably some truth to that
