Yes, I believe so. Which is odd because he had himself in one of the flashbacks but for only a brief second.

I'm tired of all the flash forward dreams, the Carl drama, the artsy filming crap, the emotional segments, etc... Give me some damn plot and action. Negan is the best bad guy ever on TWD and it feels like they are wasting him in a boring plot while trying to be to artistic focusing on feelings...... was never a big fan of Carl but he deserved to go out with a bang, or the crack of a bat....

I think we need.... More cowbell.
But I'd settle for more Lucille.

I wanted so badly to be into this show, and was for the first few seasons but I dislike shows where the characters you enjoy consistently die off... I stopped GoT for the same reason. The world has enough to be depressed over without having some fictional show also burst your balloon.

I stopped watching after 2nd episode of the first-half of this season. So like 6 episodes ago or whatever because it just became too boring.

But watched everything up until then. Can someone give me an update on Negan and what's going on? He was the only thing holding my interest when I gave up last season.

Well, in a nut shell and maybe someone can fill in the gaps that I leave.

Sanctuary gets over run by zombies thanks to Rick and Co.
Rick and garbage People form an alliance (again)
Negan and Co. escape Sanctuary and burn/ blow up Alexandria (Thanks to Eugene)
Negan and Co. Fuck up The Kingdom but not as bad as Alexandria.
Dwight officially turns on Sanctuary and is with Rick and Co.

Then you have last nights episode.
Im sure I left out a lot but I'm working so apologies out.

I'd say thanks to Michonne instead of Eugene. The stupid idea of running the truck into the side of the Sanctuary caused all this to happen.

Yeah, the Coral death was way too long. Pretty disappointing too when you consider what they've gone through and sacrificed to keep him alive. He gets shot in season 2 and that led to Shane going full Shane to save him. Went through that whole arc where he had to kill his mother after Judith is born, and shoot that kid after the prison attack, basically screwing him up mentally for awhile. He ate some pudding. Then he gets shot in the frickin' eye. Finally he gets bit. Obviously there was a lot of other stuff in there too, but you get the idea, he's been through a lot.

I realize this was basically a convenient way to write the character off because Chandler Riggs wanted out, but I think they would have been better off recasting in this case. Carl wasn't really one of my favorite characters, far from it, but he plays an important role in the both the show and the comics. His ties to his father are a big part of the story, and I can only see this going downhill further. I really think they should have recast rather than kill him off.

I don't think chandler wanted out, from all reports he was shocked when he heard he was going to be killed off.

Maybe that's too strong of a wording, but there was a lot of talk behind channels that he wanted to focus on college and get back to a normal life I think. I think he was accepted to Auburn last year. There was some backlash when he or his family posted something about finishing after 7 years on Walking Dead. The whole "shocked" thing may have been true, or just a cover for his exit. Either way, I don't think the character needed to be killed off. Like Coral or not, he provided exposition for Rick and was a convenient plot device.

Yup, or do a Morgan kind of story-line where he goes MIA for a lengthy period of time thus leaving the actor with minimal commitments to future shootings...

I couldn’t get over the fact that it was the same damn story over and over again.
- Find a safe haven, everyone is happy.
- Bad guy crops up & makes hell for the crew.
- Kill bad guys & in the process let the zombies back in.
- Kill zombies & run.

Rinse and repeat.

yup. would love to see some original shit. I'm committed to this season (just because I love Negan's character) but not sure i can get through another.

I was always hoping there was some insane Twilight Zone twist like they were playing a virtual reality game.. that would be more like Black Mirror though.

I'm at a point where I enjoy Fear TWD more than TWD. If it wasn't for Negan, I would have tuned out.

I think there's plenty they could do. They could explore a "cure", or a US military group, hit the beach, groups from across the pond, WMDs, etc etc

You know a show has fallen completely off when the last comment was from 2 monthes ago in the middle of the season and the season finale generated zero replies.

Well I'm still watching and semi enjoying it. It'll be intresting if the Maggie/Daryl vs Rick/Michonee becomes a physical altercation. Still has a little bit of the same old storyline though. Maybe they keep expanding and get a large enough population where a leader needs to be voted upon. A democracy begins with a vote between Maggie and Rick.

So Rick is gone after Season 9, and will appear in just 6 episodes. Rumour is Maggie is gone too, also appearing in 6 Episodes.
