"Situational Scrimmage" is becoming more common these days. Cincinnati has been doing that with their Spring game for a few years now.

It's not as entertaining as seeing a full scrimmage in game format, but if the coaching staff is doing it right, they will come up with some entertaining situations for the crowd to watch that wouldn't happen in a true scrimmage.

Having said that, I'd bet Harbaugh is going away from a true scrimmage because he doesn't want to put anything on film for Ohio State to use later........

Does it really matter? Meyer is a better a coach and has better players...

It doesn't matter lol, that's the point.

Harbaugh is constantly playing games with the media and public at large in order to keep team news on the down-low. Doesn't acknowledge injuries, won't release a depth chart even with FOIA requests knocking on the university's door, etc. etc.

Spoiler Alert: It hasn't helped them win extra games.

Michigan spring game is going to be drills and situational practice. LOL The band and thousands of fans are bailing.
Wonder what kind of impression that will make with recruits.

Band will not be at the Spring Situational Scrimmage | mgoblog

They'll LOVE it.

Without the corny marching band, they'll pump in music and it'll resemble a 7v7 tourney where a bunch of people stand around listening to God's Plan and Walk It Talk It. The typical 55 y/o booster will jam his Montblanc into his eye socket and into his frontal lobe to end the misery.

Well now that's the only reason to ever go to Michigan. Free Montblanc pens!

Kind of weird to cancel it on a Wednesday for a Saturday "game". It's not like the weather forecasters are ever wrong or anything.

It's obvious that Harbaugh doesn't see much value in the spring game. It's almost like he was looking for an excuse to cancel it.

Sounds like he was upset that he was disciplined for leaving campus to take care of some family issues.

He proceeded to reference his gun, the fact that scUM is open-carry, and at one point tagged Harbaugh on Twitter after referring to him as a clown via emojis. He also mentioned that he'd be "calling the morgue" instead of the cops the next time [someone] shows up at his door.

Kid seems to have some issues.

Beginning of the end for Harbaugh.

You really think so? No way anyone takes the kid's side after those Tweets.

Had he stopped short of the threats, and simply outed Harbaugh as a guy that suspends players for trying to take care of his family, maybe there's some angst that festers. Not sure on it now.

(Unless you think this is the first sign that his personality is starting to wear everyone down, in which case I could see it. I figured he'd be protected from that issue based on the constant roster fluctuation, though.)

I think its the worn out personality. I mean look how quiet hes been this off season. I think someone told him to shut it down and focus on the job.

Notre Dame Spring Game: analysis from M n B, video | mgoblog

First, holy cow on that video. Second, the utter amount of delusions in that post.

My God. The delusion is off the charts. Those guys could be up against an All-Saban Alabama team and still think it's "not a barometer game".

Also, apparently we don't have the WR's and TE's that Michigan has. So apparently they missed the two 6'6 giants lining up at TE or the two 6'5 giants lining up at WR.

I'd say good luck to them, but that kind of luck would be wasted on such incompetent and delusional folk.

They're really confident about going up against a 10 win team that blanked them in the last meeting. Also, they haven't had much luck against rivals in the last five years. What makes them think this will be different?
