Hahaha.... gross...

I'm surprised that it took until this before people started calling these sleepovers creepy. If a grown man called me up and said, "ahem... listen Pops, I want to have a sleepover with your teenaged son so I can talk to him about his future", I think I would politely hang up and then dial the police department.

Everything is so black or white to you. It has to get boring.

Ok? Not really, but I suppose saying that I am looking at things wrong might take some of the sting out of admitting your love for teenaged boys.

yeeeeeeeeah, I don't think Connor knows what it actually means.

Ha - my 13 year old niece knew what that was before I did. I'm pretty sure Connor knows exactly what it means. He just wants himself some Harbaugh.

I would like to see Tom speak to this...

Apparently ol' Jimmy pulled Erik Swenson's scholarship. This isn't Swenson wavering on his commitment, this is coming from the Michigan side of things due to lack of development on the football field over the last couple seasons. He is literally getting his scholarship pulled after being committed for over two years, two months after his football season ended, two weeks before NSD....

He committed to Hoke and then stayed committed through Harbaugh's hire. Here is a quote from after he was hired:

"It was hard when there was no head coach for two months and I didn't hear anything from Michigan," Swenson said. "I always wanted to go to Michigan since I was five or six years old and wear the helmet. They're a multi-million dollar program and one of the best programs in the nation. It was a hard wait and a lot of people questioned my decision. Now all (of the doubters) are saying I was the smartest kid to stick around."

I suppose you weren't, Erik... I suppose you weren't...

Ironically, this was first reported by Wiltfong. Cant find the original link though.

Go peruse the message boards from Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee 5 years ago, and I guarantee they were all screaming at how terrible it was that Saban was forcing kids to greyshirt or revoking their scholarship entirely. Fast forward five years, while there still seems to be some outrage by some posters at the practices of their new coaches, far to many posters have come to justify the actions of their new coaches. Each of those fan bases have decided winning is the most important thing and how you treat these kids in the process is unimportant.

I fear that their will be a day in the future when I come to this message board and we end up wrestling with the actions of whoever our coach will be at that time and I'm sure that their will be plenty of posters suddenly changing their stance on some of the issues that we are currently seeing at UM, pOSU and Tennessee.

think my stance on this sort of thing is pretty well documented. Not a fan. Harbaugh did the sort of thing since his days at Stanford.

I really think Harbaugh should've rescinded all 2016 Hoke commits offers when he became head coach immediately and told them all that they'd have to earn their offers from his staff. I think that'd have been the right thing to do.

Good to hear, Tom. Has there been any backlash from the UM fanbase on this kind of stuff? I know that every fanbase (including ours) has a demographic of people who really don't care about this stuff if they're winning, but man... ya gotta feel bad for this kid as a human being. He was getting interest from major programs like Bama and OSU. Now those opportunities are lost. He gave Harbaugh his trust and got shat on for it.

It's kinda sad that there probably wont be any backlash on stuff like this.

I am fairly certain there are some poster on this site who wish we were a bit more like those schools. We definitely have a few 'just win baby' posters.

It's funny to me that OSU fans are jumping all over Harbaugh and scUM for pushing kids out.

sad thing is, there never is any back-lash if the coaches win.

Saban has done stuff like this. So has Meyer. Les Miles took it even a step further when he pulled the scholarship of an early enrollee to make room for a 5* recruit on signing day. Kid was at LSU enrolled then told sorry, you don't have a scholarship here anymore. Imagine that. Les should've been crucified for that, but nothing.

Harbaugh took the job in December of 2014. I think Hoke had 3 kids committed to him in the 2016 class when Harbaugh got hired, and NSD in 2016 was more than 2 years away and Harbaugh most likely hadn't scouted any of them a lick. To me it was beyond stupid for him not to say look, you 3 in 2016, you can earn scholarships from me to Michigan but as of now you're no longer commits.

I think Hoke took this kids commitment when he was in the 9th grade. That's something I also have a problem with. Not quite as bad as Lane Kiffen taking the commitment of a 7th grade QB but it's in the same ball-park. Beyond ridiculous.

Straight talk, how many kids had Harbaugh now pushed out? 6? I'm not going to start moralizing against him, because he is just doig exactly what he did at Stanford and exactly what happens at many other schools.

6?

I'm only coming up with Erik Swenson and D'ele Harding off the top of my head. Both committed to Hoke when they were like in the 9th grade.

There's been a lot of talk on message boards that Kiante Enis and Rashad Weaver would be be pushed out, that hasn't happened officially yet.

Matt Falcon is one on a technicality. They weren't going to let him play football but put him on a 4 year medical which would have opened up his scholarship to another player. He chose WMU instead of that offer.

I mean can you blame Harbaugh? The kid barely played varsity HS football and blew up his same knee 3 times in high school before he ever turned 18. They offered him a free ride to get a degree at a school like Michigan. A school that he probably wouldn't have ever been able to be admitted to in a million years if he didn't play football.

He tried talking to Wisconsin and Iowa after, and they didn't return his calls. That's why he wound up at Western Michigan.

No, I don't blame him for THAT one. He still offered him the free ride. I just brought it up because it was still a push out. I mean, he could have brought him in for a year and se how he recovered. Would he have done the same to Peppers if he had to get an ACL??

Now, unless there is some legal reason that we can't be privy to... this latest move with Swenson is BUSH league. I've not been a Harbaugh hater until this. That dude can go eat a whole bag of frozen d!cks as can anybody who thinks this sort of behavior is acceptable in recruiting. Worst case I've ever heard of off the top of my head. 2+ years committed and you give him 2 weeks to figure his life out. It's not like he had been shopping around like 95% of 4 star recruits do. Sucks all the way around.
