The administrative leave is just giving OSU time to re-hire E. Gordon Gee. The only way out of this for Urban and OSU is"

Hiring a President who
1)'just hopes that Urban Meyer doesn't fire me",
and
2)Will make other outlandish comments that will make every forget about what Urban knew

I don't see how he survives this. The Ohio State University can not have someone who condones domestic abuse as the face of their football program. Not in this day and age.

If you had asked me two months ago how this shakes out, I would've shrugged. But OSU is also going through a massive wrestling sex abuse scandal and a swimming scandal on the side. They HAVE to shitcan him.

Pre #metoo that is what would have probably happened. I don't know if they can swing that now.

The only way I see that he survives this is if his wife literally takes one for the team and says she knew but didn't tell her husband. Honestly I bet this conversation has already happened with Urbie, his wife, OSU, and their lawyers.

I didn't read through most of the comments before posting this. Clearly I wasn't the only one thinking this.

So what does Michigan do with Warriner. Since, you know, he was with them in 2015. I'd assume that he was one of the coaches who knew.

Thing is there are many text from different coaches wives in conversation with Courtney Smith taking about how Urban doesn't know what to do, and had talked to Zach, ect.

Unless all of them were lied to for no apparent reason there's no way Urban didn't know.

Beyond that you're telling me an assistant coach is under investigation for a full year and at no point is the head coach ever made aware of the situation? It's beyond impossible to believe.

I think this could just be the beginning of it. Based on what McMurphy has been saying and insinuating he seems to have reason to believe the 2015 police report was changed on purpose to make sure it never got out. It's a fact that the document was changed between the time of the incident and whenever McMurphy was finally able to get his hands on it. If he's able to somehow prove OSU was somehow responsible for getting it changed, oh lordy. Bye bye Buckeyes.

I don't know her, but I don't see this happening. My wife would never consent to something like that out of the sheer embarrassment. It's embarrassing enough that your husband is a nationally known figure and is in the middle of this, but to be talked into be the scapegoat? Besides, I think there is enough info out already that could refute her claim.

If OSU was smart, they haven't discussed this with anyone but their attorneys, not even Urban and his wife. Their president probably had a preliminary discussion with their attorneys who advised him to put Meyer on leave and not discuss with anyone until they had a chance to dig into this. Besides, the president doesn't want to know the details past what he already knows until everything is looked into and presented to him. He would be under a lot of pressure if it was found out he knew what was going on and only put Meyer on leave. JMO.

I don't think many top coaches would leave this close to the season without some significant statement of extreme goodwill going forward, even for a landing spot as sweet as Ohio State. Brohm knows that he's going to get a great job sometime soon. Going to OSU, likely starting your career with a bad season because of the complete upheaval, and having a cloud of potential NCAA infractions hanging over the institution is not ideal.

It would have to be an ex-coach looking to land another job. Even if it is a temp position it gives them a platform to audition.

That is where I was, but when OSU alums like Joey Galloway go out and states "He's coached his last game" It makes you go wow....

Bama in 4 years when Saban retires

He may be on Bamas staff in under a year as a coordinator. Nobody seems to question Bama or Saban when they hire problem riddled coaches. Same with NE in the NFL.

I’m sure people said the same thing about this guy...

Petrino-Neck-Brace-e1432434895201.jpg

Yeah if Urban gets canned he will be back coaching somewhere or get decent job. Tressel went to Youngstown St. in a non athletic capacity as its President. Still a decent gig that probably pays well.

1. Loses job at tOSU. I don't know if she can lose her nursing license, but maybe that too. Maybe.

2. Starts non profit based in Columbus for victims of domestic violence. Prays with Tim Tebow, makes a show of it all, expresses regret, bada beep bada boop.

3. Ohio State wins the Big Ten again, goes to Playoff. All is forgotten.
