OSU is superior to ND, but there is only one program that is greatness and that is Bama. Urb is a fantastic recruiter, but I am continuously appalled at how OSU under performs given their talent disparity.

Say what you want, he's been doing it with less / lower rated talent than Bama up till now. That changed with last year's and this year's classes which will be the #1 and #2 classes in APR since this data has been tracked.

So what I'm saying is... if you believe in recruiting R&R's, you ain't seen nothing yet.

OSU is about ready to Roll the Tide into the gulf.

Stats can prove anything.

I'm pretty sure the CURRENT general consensus of all college football is:

Tier 1: Bama, Clemson, OSU - No one else. Is this even a debate?
Tier 2: Teams like Michigan
Teir 3: Teams like ND
Teir 4: Who cares.

King: Bama
Tier 1.5: Clemson, OSU
Tier 2: Teams like Michigan
Teir 3: Teams like ND
Teir 4: Who cares.

Simply put, Bama has done more. Yes they have had more from a recruiting standpoint, but even their non top 15 games are much more challenging than Purdue, Illinois, etc.

Seriously, the conference disparity is overblown by the media, but it is real. What Saban has done at Bama is historic.

Urbs is fantastic and I would love to have him. I just don't think he has produced at OSU what Saban has at Bama. Maybe he will. But to this point, I am not sure how someone could say they are level when he has won ONE Big freakin Ten championship in 5 years.

He may have had less, but do you really think that the talent Urban had versus Sparty, PSU, Wisky etc was any different than the talent gap between UGA and Bama? UF and Bama? LSU & Bama? I would say it might even be MORE of a talent gap for OSU versus competition.

Maybe that is different in 3 years, but that is what it has been for the past 5 years, which is the point of the conversation.

I'm not arguing that OSU has done as much as Bama in the last 10 years. I'm saying right now, I buy their stock just as much as Bama's for the next ~5 years.

I think OSU has just as much of a shot to win as many or more titles than Bama through 2022.

Then your comment that "OSU is greatness" would be better phrased as "OSU is positioned for greatness", no?

The other comments were more for ThePiombino, who was comparing since 2012.

Here's what I believe... He who has the most talented upperclassmen sprinkled with the most impact players regardless of class is the best program.

OSU will overtake Bama in that regard starting next year.

That's fine, don't disagree, but that wasn't the point.

Weak sauce.

OSU games versus top 15 teams since 2012 - 13 games - .692 winning percentage

Bama games versus top 15 teams since 2012 - 28 games - .786 winning percentage

OSU Total Yards per play differential by season
2012 - 1.0
2013 - 1.8
2014 - 2.0
2015 - 2.2
2016 - 1.9
Average - 1.8

OSU Total Yards per play differential by season
2012 - 2.7
2013 - 2.3
2014 - 1.8
2015 - 1.6
2016 - 2.5
Average - 2.2

So despite playing DOUBLE the amount of tougher games, Bama generates 22% more yards per play differential since 2012 compared to OSU. OSU has also won ONE, I repeat, ONE, Big Ten Championship. OSU has played for one national championship. Bama, on the other hand, has won 4 SEC championships, played for 3 national championships.

But yea, they are on the same level b/c of winning percentage.

Are you factoring in the perpetuated BS SEC rankings? Because one thing that seems to ring true year in and year out is that the SEC gets the benefit of the doubt with rankings throughout the regular season and they walk out of the post-season roughly .500 as a conference. I think looking at performance vs. top-15 teams is good at a high level, but really quite useless when you consider the bias involved in SEC rankings.

This is true and no one hates the sec more than me, but the big 10 has gotten some serious love in the rankings since urbie has been at osu. Iowa, wisconsin, msu, psu, and even michigan have all been told to us by poll voters that they are great teams, when in fact, they were average.

Yep. The same thing is happening in the ACC this pre-season. After Clemson won last year the value of the entire league has been elevated. Hopefully that's ultimately a good thing for ND though...

Hotlz only won one Natty and never even sniffed a conference championship, yet I would say he was great at ND.

Let's put it this way...ND is going to be trotting out a team that, based on personnel, has a ~ top 15 roster, maybe even top 10. To reach 11 wins, would you rather have this schedule:

Indiana
Oklahoma
Army
UNLV
Rutgers
Maryland
Nebraska
Penn State
Iowa
Sparty
Illinois
Michigan
Championship game (Wisky)

or this schedule:

Florida State
Fresno State
CO State
Vanderbilt
Mississippi
Texas A&M
Arkansas
Tennessee
LSU
MS State
Mercer
Auburn
Championship game (UGA or UF)

I know how I would answer that.

It's pretty clear, Urban has already won more conference championships at OSU than Holtz ever did at ND. Numbers don't lie. #TakeDownthatStatue

I'm 99.99999999% sure NDRock is being sarcastic, guys.

As far as the Saban/Bama vs Meyer/OSU thing...how are they head to head with their current schools? Meyer/OSU 1- Saban/Bama 0. OSU with 3rd string QB also.

Both are great. How about that?

I agree, both are great. Yes I was being sarcastic. There are certain things every ND fan should know (especially if you're going to post on a forum). Independence, past NC winning coaches, 4 Horsemen, who Terry Hanratty is, etc...

IU just marched down the field and scored a TD. Hope they can make them sweat for 4 quarters.

FIFY... why don't you take a seat.

Well, if we know anything from TCAP, it's that pedos tend to be Ohio State or Michigan fans.
