Regardless of what she said in emails and text, she didn't find him attractive. She was using him to further her career. You know his staff and advisers had to know what was going on. Gotta believe one of them had to tell him he was playing with fire.

This is something you'd find on a soap opera.

Really a sad situation. Going from a beloved Dr and devoted family man by all accounts to a skirt chasing dirty ole man. Hopefully he can find forgiveness from those that had had faith in him. And evidently several staffers knew of his exploits and tried unsuccessfully to get him to stop.

Sad thing is that from all I've ever heard, he was a genuinely good guy and faithful husband for decades before this. Got in office and got his head turned by some younger tail and just lost his freakin' mind.

Strange... Luther, I mean. Strange was the AG and asked the legislature to suspend impeachment proceedings in November due to his investigation. Then, when Jeff Sessions moves into Trump's Cabinet as AG, Governor Bentley appoints Strange to Sessions' seat in February and appoints a new state AG to continue the "investigation" of himself. The legislature starts up the impeachment proceedings in March.

The guy must have thought he was immune, texting his lover with his wife next to him, reading the texts. Or stupid. He synced his emails to his tablet, then no longer used it, so his wife was reading their emails. She then recorded them with her phone leaving it in her purse next to him as he would inevitably then call the woman. The Governor's assistants would keep her up to date on his activities, burn the recordings for her, and log his trips with his lover. All this came out and was part of the impeachment process. Of course, Strange needed to "investigate" further.

Auburn University cancels speech by avowed white nationalist | Reuters
By Laila Kearney
Apr 14, 2017 | 9:27pm EDT

...

Spencer said his talk would touch on free speech issues but mainly focus on his newfound opposition to Trump.

Spencer and other white nationalists soured on the Republican president after the recent U.S. bomb attacks in Syria and Afghanistan. "We are a true oppositional force," Spencer said.

An outspoken supporter of Trump in the 2016 campaign, Spencer rose from relative obscurity in the days after the Nov. 8 election. Widely circulated video footage showed some Trump supporters giving Nazi-style salutes to Spencer during a gathering in Washington to celebrate the Republican candidate's victory.

In an interview with the New York Times shortly after the incident, Trump condemned the conference organized by Spencer.

Alabama DL O.J. Smith announced his transfer from the program. Smith is a redshirt Junior from the Class of 2014 who has played in only two games in the last two years and is not listed on Bama's two deep. Bama had three NGs in the class of 2014. Johnny Dwight is another three star NG from that class, who redshirted in 2014 and has played only one game in the last three years. Bama also has seven scholarship RBs on the roster.

This leaves Alabama at 83 scholarship players. They have two walkons, who had scholarships last year, one Grayshirt four star DE (Jarez Parks) and one Blueshirt K (Bulovas) in the Class of '16. Arguably, the walkons get their scholarships renewed, Bulovas stays a Blueshirt, and Bama has one more player attrition to go (for a scholarship to Parks).

The Class of 2014 (26 signees) has only had two transfers, including Smith, though two signees did not enroll due to academics.

Was reading an article on recruiting classes and it pointed out that as of this time, Bama is way behind and commitments for 2018.

Tide Football Players from Alabama

Tide Football Players from Alabama

Saban recruits Alabama well not just to keep in-state footprint, but also because of the talent level and commitment to success, including academic progress.

From the 2011-2017 recruiting classes, forty-two of the 146 enrollees came from Alabama (33%).

Attrition prior to graduating or leaving early for the NFL (Signing Class listed)
Only one of those forty-two was dismissed (Cook).
Only one left school due to academics (Flowers) (Bo Scarbrough signed in '14, but did not qualify and entered in '15.)
Three took medical scholarships. (Paige - Class '12, G Hill '12, Gulledge-'11)
Three, including two this offseason, transferred. (Liner '13, Bell '15, Jennings '16)

In total, eight of those forty-two left early and thirty-four are either on the current team, left early for the NFL or graduated. Some well-know names of those Alabama players include Reuben Foster, O.J. Howard, Marlon Humphrey, T.J. Yeldon, Reggie Ragland, and, earlier, C.J. Mosley, Dee Milliner, A.J. McCarron, Nico Johnson.

All 50 states, ranked by their percentage of the country's elite college football recruits (Alabama is seventh.)

Ranking all 50 states and D.C. by elite college football recruits per capita (Alabama is fifth.)

Just sayin'

He's done a good job holding on to in-state talent and done some serious damage to UGA, UF, and especially LSU by pulling some of their state's top recruits. We appear to be behind the curve this recruiting season, though. Not sure why or if it's just taking longer for the class to fall into place. Given his track record I assume it'll all come together by February, but it's worth keeping an eye on. BTW, thanks for all the updates and great info, Legacy.

Thank you sir, just got so used to everyone blaming things on Obama that it had to be him.

Edit: the NCLB act was replaced during Obama's final term with Every Child Succeeds Act.

Man shoots mammoth 820 pound wild hog in his front yard | AL.com
Updated on July 19, 2017 at 8:57 AM
By Joe Songer

Samson resident Wade Seago knew something was up outside of his home last week when the family's pet schnauzer, Cruiser, started barking constantly. The Seagos live on 100 acres in the rural south Alabama town. The property and surrounding area is teeming with wildlife so it's not unusual for their dog to bark at deer, raccoons or other wild visitors.

...

The dog had a huge wild hog bayed in his front yard, about 5 yards off of the front porch. "Cruiser had this huge hog confused with all of the barking and movement," Wade continued. "It was not a good situation."

...

It took three shots to take him down. The giant hog hit the ground near the carport. The next day, Wade took the wild hog to Brooks Peanut Company and weighed it on the drive-thru scales. The hog tipped the scales at 820 pounds and had six inch tushes.

...

That's @ 80 lbs of bacon, 80 lbs of ham and 80 pounds of loin/chops.

Why can't a butcher shop ever walk onto my property?

Yeah, but have you ever ate wild pig?

It ain't Smithfield, I'll tell ya that much.

Can you still make country ham from it?

Sure, in fact, I would say to smoke it over other methods.

You can cook it however you want though, it just doesn't taste like farm pig. It's tougher and more "gamey".

Since wild boar is very lean meat, when smoking it you have to retain as much moisture as possible or risk the meat being tough. Smoke it on low heat and you would probably want to inject it with a liquid seasoning to help out.

I've had full blown razorback done in a pit taken in far Western Ky, pulled it just like a regular pig and it was more gamey but not as gamey as venison or elk. Plus when BBQ sauce, onions, dills and rye bread were added, I couldn't taste the difference.

I've even had a Javelina which I guess is hard to dress and cook (the boars). Sows and piglets are easy. It was put into a big aluminum pan with orange juice, garlic, brown sugar rub and after a while a couple jars of apple sauce was put on top and it smoked all night. Tasted like an apple pork chop from Hannah's in New Buffalo. Ate that for days out at the Dunes one holiday.

Country ham, grits, red eye gravy.

Or make some cinghiale pasta

That's the case with any wild game though, amirate?

Smoked in a pit, or on a spit, or whatever is the best way to do it. As it is with all wild game. That's what I was saying originally. If you want to take some chops and pan fry them, be prepared for a surprise.

Red eye gravy sounds foul (who came up with the idea of mixing those two things???) until you try it. Holy cow that stuff's good. My wife (a California girl) turned her nose up at it the first time I made it, but once she tried it, she went nuts over it and asks me to make it for her all the time. Good stuff.

Man, I about negged you. I wasn't even gonna read past the parentheses, but I'm glad I did. Red eye gravy is a staple
