Why the idiots feel the need to bash the kid on his facebook page is beyond me.

I know...The thing i think about most is how can your turn QUIT on your brothers...Manti, and Tuitt were real close with him..

If i was a part of the ND team i'd say next man in and can we all be honest and fight for one another...

There WAS a very short lived poll (mods are working OT) about which was worse, Lynch, Tee, or Greensberry.

They do all have heart problems in common. Shepard has a diagnosed medical heart problem, Lynch has an affair of the heart problem, and Greensberry just lacked heart (Les made me say that)

I'm relatively new here still, so forgive me if I'm missing something but what was the huge issue with the pole thread? Just a "taste" thing?

Not trying to be mean or be rude but he was always about himself. you could see it in the way he carried himself. BKs video said everything that needed to be said. He didn't want to be here know he is gone. Yes he was a great player however he just wasn't IRISH.

I hate to be "that guy", but I posted in the spring thread 2 weeks ago about how this was about to happen after talking with him. I mentioned it only as an elite defensive player about to transfer. All of you who are ripping on Lynch, consider this: the reason for his transfer is not only wanting to be back at home, but his frustration with the coaching staff/Kelly.

Correct but you have only heard Aaron's side. There is a different perspective from other players as well.

I have heard the perspective of players also. It boils down to the fact that this place was not a good fit for him.

lol, you are doing the same thing again. Elaborate, or say nothing in the first place. Why was he frustrated with the coaching staff? When you are vague like that you are just inviting skepticism.

Bring back Hafis. He and Goodman will surprise us all and be the great stories of 2012 (wishful thinking ... can Hafis even come back? or is it too late since he didn't get approved by the Faculty Board of Athletics with the other 5th years?)

But since it is Aaron that is transferring, aren't his feelings (whether right or wrong) the only ones that matter?

SO what was your point in posting what you posted? Because your angle sure sounded like it was the coaching staff's fault.

As in, he doesn't like being coached. It's out there now that people aren't holding back anymore, but Aaron, like many high profile kids, bristled at being coached hard, and being coached to do things the right way. He wanted to just go out and play. And the ND coaches let him do that...to a certain extent.

I'm over it though. Sucks sucks sucks, but time to move on to the Spring Game...

Yeah, one of the BGI staffers posted something about how he talked to a couple of former Lynch teammates and got the impression that the players won't miss Lynch very much, fwiw.

Aaron did not have THE CHEST to lead this Notre Dame defense....

Sorry, channelling my inner Les Miles.

Kelly says linebacker Ishaq Williams was also recently granted some time away from the program to decide whether he wanted to continue his Notre Dame career. Unlike Lynch, Williams decided his head and heart are still both under the golden dome.

“I don’t think it was about Ishaq not wanting to be here,” Kelly said of the Brooklyn, NY native. “He had to make that decision that he was going to excel at Notre Dame. He’s come back with that attitude and you can see it on the football field.”

That was after winter break, not spring break. He also said Ishaq has been much better in class and on field since January.

C'mon, when does this become a problem? I'm not a doomsayer and I generally try and preach objectivity, but something is amiss. I'd like to think that the team can get through this, but at what point do our elite players transferring at positions of need, most notably at CB and DE this offseason, become detrimental and a reflection on poor...something at the University or in the coaching staff? I grant ND isn't for everyone, but the coaching staff is supposed to get kids to stay; it's their job. I mean talk about a blow to the motivation or excitement for the season. Two mediocre seasons where we all say that signs are pointing up, but we've done that for the last twenty years with better records and offseason recruiting classes, and nothing changed. Ten wins this year or I'm on the Kelly Out! bandwagon. It's Kelly's ship and if he thinks this is best, that's fine, but he's had his three years in charge, and I want results.

it is a new type of player now a days....w/ social media and the emphasis on sports in our culture..the exposure that is given to kids these days have only increased the mentality of me me me...just like in the story w/ urban meyer about percy harvin saying he wasn't going to do drills etc...ND isn't changing!!! it is there are less and less type of people who trully want to work hard...it is a culture phenomenon where hard work was once praised it is the strike rich quick which is now praised..at ND you not only have tough academic standards, ok girls, ok weather but a different enviornment than most of these kids have been living...in other hot bed schools for football such as texas, florida, alabama etc most of the kids they are getting are from their area and state...the homesickness is much of a factor, the rigors of education isn't a factor and ur treated like a king...we don't have that!

I'd like to be one to wish him luck where ever he goes.

But F-That, I hope he fails wherever he goes. He's going to be on the other side of the ball/team now, against ND. I don't root for Michigan or USC, he's as much of one of them as Barkely is. I hope he does transfer to USF, and he get's completely dominated on the line. At least at Notre Dame other offenses had to consider our our D-line and LB's, who are they going to have to consider at USF other than lynch. He's going to get worked into the ground and end up quitting there too. I don't wanna say we're better off w/o him, but good riddance!

And I agree, I wasn't trying to say the University was wrong, because of the prestige still associated, but the staff. I put them next to each other for emphasis, as if looking at them together would show the true answer. ND, or the staff was my point, and I was trying to point out that I don't think the University is to blame. You're completely correct in your assessment, but I don't think this trend is nothing, I think there may be something behind it. If BK can pull this off and start winning some games, 10+, then that's fine. If not, we lost two huge players this offseason and it's indicative of an issue. Just my opinion, and as I said, I'm generally very objective but the timing of this, Friday the 13th (DUN DUN DUN) is just too much!

And this is exactly why we will probably never be a top 10 team again.
