It’s more like you graduate from college and are offered two jobs. One company offers you a $250K signing bonus with an annual salary of $50,000, 5 year employment contract. Second company offers you a $100K signing bonus with a $75K annual salary to start but with up to 50% annual increases depending on performance goals, also a 5 year employment contract.
Yep. ISD has repeatedly said that Brown and Freeman completely botched the WR board this cycle. They said that Brown isn't a good recruiter and virtually no WR recruits talk about him. He has gotten very few blue-chip WR's in both the 25 and 26 classes to visit campus since he was hired. Apparently it's not an Al Golden situation where he puts very little effort into recruiting, he's just bad at it. That is extremely, extremely alarming. Next year should be a put-up or shut-up year for him on the recruiting front. Same with Al Washington with DL recruiting.
No he was hired to win. Period.

They need to start bringing in transfers who don’t just have 1 year of eligibility left. And when freshman studs like Caleb Downs hit the portal, you need to get them or at the very least be right in the thick of things. It didn’t sound like ND made a big push to get him when he hit the portal.
Even worse is if we replace those whiffs with 3* mid level projects. Somethings gotta give especially with WR recruiting, teams like Texas Tech are even landing 5* guys.
I disagree with this take. ND doesn't have NIL problems....they had the best NIL offer for Meadows! He was leaning to us again, and if Underwood doesn't flip to Michigan he winds up at ND.
ND will struggle to be inside the top 8 in final recruiting rankings. I think ND will perennially be in the 8-14 range with recruit rankings. It happenes every year. ND may be in top five starting out but by end of year when everyone had their signings ND drops.
The vast majority of the time Up Front Money is going to win. The old "Bird in the hand" scenario.
