Would've liked to see him at jr day. I know Freeman and co. made the trip to Vegas to see him, so still must be a priority despite the and the oc/wr coaching change.

At least the story headline shows up in Google Alerts as....

Notre Dame is ‘high’ on the list of 2025 4-star WR Derek Meadows

Surprisingly small offer list for a top 150 recruit at a high school powerhouse, but hopefully a great get for our staff!
The longer we can keep that Bishop Gorman connection strong, the better it will be for our program.

I think there are 2 reasons for this. He's got great tools and elite potential but the production isn't there at this point and because of this his offer list is less impressive. If he didn't camp at ND last year I don't think ND would be as high on him as they are because he's yet to have the opportunity to truly shine on his loaded HS team. The other reason for it I believe is that he seemed like its been a 2nhorse race for awhile now between ND and UW.

It’s pretty crazy how loaded Gorman is. Their whole offensive line is going P5. The 2 senior receivers ahead of him are going to Arizona and Miami. RBs are going to KSU and Michigan. His 15 catches, 391 yards, and 8 touchdowns as a junior are pretty impressive in that context.

Given what's happened at Washington the last few weeks maybe our horse has pulled ahead?
But then of course now maybe Bama enters the race.

Good thoughts, that does make sense.
Thanks

He only had 19 receptions as a junior because he played behind older experienced players so his offer list appears to be a reflection of unproven but projected talent. He did win accolades in track & field this past season as well. Probably good that ND got involved early as you alluded to……his production will likely take a steep increase now that he’ll have his chance to shine at Gorman.

IMO he's not a plug and play prospect but a prospect with immense upside who is without a doubt a boom.or bust type. The tools are there for the most part, the only real knock on him is that he's not a natural pass catcher/ average hands. He's a "what if" prospect because he is a smooth, tall, long, fast and quick. Always take a chance on such a type.

It was a great thing that ND got in early with him, those camps to see these kids with there own eyes has really paid off for this staff.
