And give them someone other than "Im afraid of reading defenses down field because Im sort and noodle armed" Book
Not to mention terribly inaccurate

Still remember when he missed a wide open Finke by about 15 yards at VaTech in 2018

Habitually underthrowing Claypool in 2019. And completely ignoring him in 2018

Scared, weak-armed, and inaccurate on the deep ball is no way to go thru life as a QB

He was a good scrambler though and killed it in the screen game against Wake in 2018

are you serious clark? #1 conference, probably the best game atmosphere/stadium, them and osu are wru.....when was the last time a wr was like...hmmm i want the best education, work hard, and go to a place that has put crap out in terms of nfl wr's.....the homerism is strong here

Not being a homer at all. I'd understand LSU if 1) we hadn't been the favorite for a few months leading up to it, and 2) Denbrock was still coaching there. That's a lot to sell.

The point I'm (at least trying) to make is not that LSU is not an attractive school for recruits. It moreso just seems weird to me that they're making up ground despite the fact that the only offensive coordinator BK has had at LSU is now in South Bend.

Not sure if that point makes sense, but it just seems strange to me on what BK could be selling at the moment.

Hard to believe it’s an LSU ND battle unless it’s an NIL thing or he has some relationship with another recruit or coach not being discussed.

My hunch is nobody knows anything and the taking head have their own private forum where someone said that Meadows said he liked LSU and everyone went nuts just like we go nuts and over analyze everything.

They have an incredible track record with wide receivers, but virtually never from outside the state of Louisiana. They rarely reel in big fish out side of that state other than Texas and especially at the wide receiver position.

OK....not sure how that affects this situation other than Meadows isn't from Louisiana...that makes no difference...no freaking person is looking at the list of wr's they put out and say...welp not going to go there now, I'm from out of state...makes 0 sense...they are a proven wr factory. end of story

Maybe Meadows should look at the WRs that BK has put out. He should not get any credit for all the LSU WRs he had nothing to do with only being there for 2 years and look at the WRs he put in the league over his 11 years at ND or his 3 years at Cincinnati.

True. I'm assuming that LSU is pushing hard ...... come play with the #1 QB (at least one service) in the nation. He will get you the ball, blah blah blah.

IIRC, he's the same guy who kept tweeting at Keeley's mom and got her to tweet out that Keon would flip if some team offered $1 Million.
If Keeley came out this year, I wonder if ND would offer him $1m?

Obviously, I've been throwing out ideas to figure out how do we turn around the current ND WR situation. At this point, I think we're just down to what everyone has offered up: Riley/Carr/Angeli/Minchey (I don't care who emerges as our Superstar QB!) just have to go out there and make our current corps of receivers look stellar and really run up scores in some games (and, of course, part of that is Denbrock putting in a scheme that facilitates this kind of game). If this happens, then we hopefully start going Walter Egan and attracting top WRs to committing to The Irish starting with '25 late bloomers/committers, then top TP Grad WRs, and lastly, some really blue chip '26-ers! Our only unknown is how is Mike Brown as a DEVELOPER of WRs? Seems to have a decent record of development, but nothing that screams superstar WR coach/developer.

Do we / can we get our most recent top receivers (and maybe TEs) who made it to NFL to be more involved in our WR recruiting process to help get things jump started? I have no clue if they already are involved.
They are all retired now. 😉

Driskell said (before Meadows announced his push backed up announcement) that we shouldn’t believe what is being told.

“Meadows is going to pick another school”.

I take it the bottom quote is what we should not believe?

why’s that?
Just thinking it through..

He was most likely set on going to some school--probably LSU given all the smoke, and not ND--so he went ahead and set up an announcement date for Saturday

Subsequently during this week, ND has likely been able to turn the tide and get him to pump the brakes and reconsider

Now he's having second thoughts/doubts on LSU and is no longer ready to announce

Were the situation reversed--that he announced his commitment date and shortly thereafter, everyone was saying ND lead, but then he subsequently pushed back his announcement date later in the week--this place would be in 10x the meltdown mode that it's been all week

Based on ISD's intel, this is pretty much it.

It sounds like LSU was going to be the pick, which is bizarre, given most anticipated Bama was the team to beat, as their staff had been on Meadows longer than pretty much everyone.

According to Matt Freeman, ND is the reason for the push back. Not to say he's going to pick ND, but it does sound like Freeman, Brown and Denbrock gave him a lot to think about.
