Will be at Junior Weekend per Dohn. Shocking development tbh.

Want so bad. I still think JOK might've been the best LB we've had, including Jaylon and Manti. Not in terms of volume of production because JOK broke his foot going into his RS Freshman year but in terms of ability to blow up games single-handedly.

He is a demon on the field. Hope his brother wants to don the gold helmet and be another demon.

Honestly, probably one of the best players to play in a long time for ND but wasn't more of a star or talked about like Manti or jaylen...EXTREMELY underrated and even in nfl ...

JOK didn't come in with the HS pedigree that those two did and also didn't contribute as a true freshman, plus hardly as a rs frosh. Honestly his ND career is arguably even behind X Watts at this point, which is a bit of a shame because he was as explosive a defensive player as I've seen at ND.

After about 2 games into his starting career at ND, you could argue he was the best player on the field in any game.

That Georgia game...so good. Him blowing up plays early really helped set the tone for the defense that night.

X Watts won the Nagurski, while Wu won a lowly Butkus. I will never complain about the careers of either of those guys.

Yeah was a bit tongue in cheek haha, we got award winning seasons out of them both but Watts has the tiebreaker for his first season as a starter (not being overly serious)

JOK was better than Jaylon as a college football player. Idk if thats even really debatable. JOK v Manti is an interesting discussion.
Then why was Jaylon considered the top player in the draft before he was injured? No way it was based on potential only. Jaylon had more “subtle” production than any ND linebacker ever; every opposing DC had to know where he was on every down.

Jaylon, with all his talents and production, was still underutilized and did not have his athleticism truly maximized. If think we can say that JOK did.

So he's visiting us and Miami? That matchup doesn't always end well for the good guys. Though I'd like to think that having a brother who both went to Notre Dame and is getting paid millions on Sundays might make one less susceptible to Miami's charms.

Jaylon was wasted, relative to his talent, playing in a bad defense. He then his injury prevented him from ever fulfilling his potential.

Manti was a force of nature in college.

It was the same for JOK. He'd single-handedly ruin plays that would've otherwise gone for big yards.

I don't think we need to state outright whether he was better than Jaylon/Manti, etc. He's on the Mt. Rushmore of ND LBs. If only he didn't break his foot going into his RS freshman year. I think we'd have seen an even more disruptive version of JOK. He's been getting better in the NFL.

I think “was used better” than Jaylon because I don’t know that JOK does any better playing for VanGorder.

JOK could not play the game that Jaylon was asked too. Jaylon would've thrived, because he did when he was asked too, in JOK's role. It's pretty easy.

The dude had one leg and was still almost a first round pick… Jaylon could do it all.
