Say you have no clue about Division 1 WR athleticism, without saying it

I actually like Jace Brown as a prospect, but 30" vertical at any height at WR would be in the bottom 10%(yes i'm estimating) of power 4 Wrs. 32" was the lowest WR vert in the combine this past year.

Claypool was 40" boykin was over 40"....... Thats dunking with aurthority. 30" vert needs a breakaway to get a dunk if you want to use that as a reference.

I honestly don't think his 30" vert is accurate, he seems more athletic.

Now do Boykin's & Claypool's HS verticals are high school juniors.

You are talking about guys 4 years through college 30 isn't outstanding by any means but it isn't terrible for high school at all I would think 28-36 would be the range for d-1 caliber receivers

We need WRs with 60 inch verticals minimum

The combine average has been around 35” for receivers for a bit. 30 isn’t brutal for a HS kid, not that it’s great either

It also should be a data point, not an arbitrary criterion. A someone else mentioned 30" for a 6'4" kid is fine. If he was 5'10" it would be a different story.

I also said i don't think 30" is accurate for him based on his jr video, maybe somewhat to your point. It might be from his frosh/sophmore year in HS?

Myself and a few others only commented because 30" vert is not good for WR, and it was made to seem like it was.

you sure that is true? Last year there were 4 WRs at the combine with 35" verts or less, and 27 with > 35". Last year WR average looked to be about 38"

Like others have said, a great vert doesn't guarantee success nor does a bad one guarantee failure. I was just pointing on that 30" isn't good, and I would bet he actually has a better vert.

Mediocre for NFL combine does not equal mediocre for college.

And there are lots of guys in college who don't play because they aren't great players, but are on rosters because of elite athletic traits--pulling the average up.

30 inches is like Ben Skorwronek at 23 or 24, who is not a stud but is still in the NFL. It's plenty for a 6'3-4" college receiver.
