Injuries are gonna happen good thing we have 6 capable backs, didn't Price have an injury more serious and came back just fine? At the end of the day it was gonna be hard to find meaningful snaps this year for Young? Not sure how much he would have played. Situations like this suck but not he can preserve a year and come back stronger next year.Reliable source:
Likely ACL/MCL, staff should have confirmation of severity today

Which is probally worse? I'd think soPrice was achilles
1) Price did not come back fine, 2023 he had two more carries than Payne. Took him almost two years to get back.Injuries are gonna happen good thing we have 6 capable backs, didn't Price have an injury more serious and came back just fine? Relax, bedwetterThanks Landow. Gonna be another season of insane attrition most likely
Young played in 7 games last year unless playoff games don't count if that is the case he can medical, and still have 4 years.1) Price did not come back fine, 2023 he had two more carries than Payne. Took him almost two years to get back.
2) Young already used a RS last year.
Only 4 regular season games though per ND: Kedren Young Purdue, Stanford, Navy, and SC. The other three were playoff games, which don't count against eligibilityYoung played in 7 games last year
The Irish Illustrated podcast mentioned that he didn’t sound like he thought of himself having that skill set. The also said that he’s at best our third best short yardage back at the moment, which I agree with. And for all carries of great import, the ball should be in Love’s handsI really thought with his size and the way he hit the hole at full speed he would have seen some short yardage Carries. Guy is the strongest looking guy in the backfield. We have depth like no other team at RB.
i think you missed his snaps in the other games where he was a DTOnly 4 regular season games though per ND: Kedren Young Purdue, Stanford, Navy, and SC. The other three were playoff games, which don't count against eligibility
To add, I feel like I remember one of the Irish Illustrated guys saying Kedren asked for his redshirt to be preserved last year after he played his 4th gameOnly 4 regular season games though per ND: Kedren Young Purdue, Stanford, Navy, and SC. It said out for year but 4-6 months wonder if he could come back for playoffs? So he's out for the year with a knee injury, has anyone heard what happened?
Edit...meaning contact or no contact.

Yeah I don’t think the coaches rush him, we got plenty of depth play Love and Price, get Williams and Payne involved get James his 4 gamesI would say no since it's ACL. Even if he's healed in 4-6 months I think he's going to need time to get in shape, build strength and range of motion, etc.
That's what came to my mind. He'll be lucky to be full go for spring ball. I would guess that's a no as well.
I mean ACL and MCL recoveries have come a lot faster recently it used to be a year I’ve seen guys playing after 6 months. He'll be lucky to be full go for spring ball. I would guess that's a no as well.
Why would you rush him back? Depth at the position doesn't require it. Plus it's not in the best interest of a young college kid to try to be back from a major injury in only 6 months. Best case scenario he's able to do light work in the spring and hopefully be ready for next fall camp. Unfortunate but that's IMO the track that should be takenI mean ACL and MCL recoveries have come a lot faster recently it used to be a year I’ve seen guys playing after 6 months.

Doctorate in DT yeah

You mean Delirium Tremens?Doctorate in DT yeah
Ehhh it's RB. I'm guessing he'll have every opportunity to get snaps when he's good to go. Last year Love got about 10 carries a game. That's what came to my mind.
The kid didn't have much hope at reps this year, but what REALLY sucks is, he isn't going to be around for spring to compete for RB1.
