Exactly in the late 90's I ran 10.91 at a Nationals meet and got runner up running one division up for that age group and future blazers like Kevin Jones (10.92) James Rainer (10.94) were rolling as well in another group. Chris Rainey was running with the 9 or 10 year old as well I believe. I remember another National meet and the 13-14 division/8th Grade and the winner won in 11.06!
That’s fast. I haven’t met a lot of 8th graders than ran faster than my 11.3 running with the Pierre Moran Warriors in Elkhart, lol. I ran a 10.7 consistently as a 17/18 year old but was a baseball guy. I often wish I would have worked more on the track.
Well that was still pretty good especially for the Youth (13-14 division). My Senior year I was running 10.41 so I guess it pretty much evens out. I had a couple guys I talked into coming out to run outdoor and quit Baseball bc they were the 2nd, 4th and 5th fastest in the school and we ended up running 42.04 in the 4×100.
Blazing!! My problem was thinking I was a football player that needed to bulk up and then loving the gym and weights so much I was probably more of a 5ft 9in HS safety/Linebacker than a RB when I should have just stayed fast and lean. I ripped my hamstring to shreds my freshman year. I remember running 11.4s my soph year when I got back out and felt like my JR I was playing catch up. I almost got talked into competing with the guys in the 4x100 but baseball schedule conflicts. I’m 39 now, let’s go out and race and kill our hammys, lol. I’ll meet you at the Y in 10 minutes. 😂

Really hard to draw conclusions on the OL. They're basically running out two patchwork jobs. 1s mixed in with 2s.
you have to understand that not only is this OL very young but that they are going against this spring a front 7 that'll be a top 15 unit if healthy all season and a front 7 that is better than any they'll face on this fall's schedule.
Can't believe this is the first post on his profile since the season started. Agree with this 100%. Being a running back on 3rd down is one of the toughest things you can do, and he's a true Freshman. Blocking 240 lb DE's in pass pro is not a small task. Even if he doesn't become an absolute stud like we think Love will be, he will be such a key part of future teams to come.
