I’m a subway alumni with degrees in both journalism and English.

Don’t be elitist about non-grads as a fallback when you have no other ammo to use.

It’s a lame-ass move.
IrishLion - this is an ND Board not an OSU or Bama board. NDpendent posts a ridiculous, repetitive, run-on sentence. I could barely understand what he was posting. After reading it a few times I can understand his take- but it was painful to read.

Is it "Elitist" to attend ND and state same? Is it "Elitist" to expect posts to be sufficiently readable? ND is an elite university so I would expect posts on this message board would be drafted well and understandable. I don't think that is a lame-ass move.

Counter point:

This is the internet. If you want to talk about ND football and bring something positive to the board, I don’t care if you spell your words phonetically to match your hollers-of-Kentucky accent.

Just don’t be a dick.

Something you have yet to master, it seems.

being mean to the subway alumni is like being disparaging to smicks - utterly rude, unacceptable, and self-defeating in the worst way. Would ND be nearly as special and important as it is without our legions of devoted fans who didn't fork over tuition dollars to the dome? It makes me so sad to see people do that. I've run into subway alums with negative experience like this that turned them off from the team. Just awful.

He won’t bad mouth Power.
When Singer was at Rivals he would defend horrible Mike Farrell rankings & say Rivals was the best. Now he is with On3 he thinks there’s are the best & everyone else’s sucks.

Last year he consistently defended Power when Power took over & dropped Drayk Bowen from top 50 to outside the top 200.

I am not a huge fan of that podcast, but that is not my impression of Singer at all.

Singer, like Sampson, likes to takes the consensus, "reasonable guy in the middle" view on most issues. I have heard him say more than once that ranking recruits its not a science; the people ranking them are all doing their best, they get a lot wrong, but you should treat is as a fun, etc.

It seems pretty out of character for him to say "everyone else’s sucks."

In terms of rankings Singer's takes seem to be the most reasonable as taking the consensus is probably best, essentially the anti-D3. I will say the mentions of him not being around the campus as much as other outlets pretty jokes when D3 decided that he wasn't going to be at the games in 2020.

Feldman getting pressured into writing an entire piece on CJ Carr, which amounts to just a bunch of friendly, generic-to-the-QB quotes, based on the fact that he wrote an entire Elite 11 article before that without mentioning CJ once, is funny to me lol.

I wonder if he was actually trying to throw ND fans a bone based on how many tweets and article comments he got on the Elite 11 piece about a lack of CJ Carr commentary (after writing something about literally every other QB there), if he simply saw an opportunity for a massive bump to his monthly clicks, or if he got pressured by management to do it for the sake of business… probably a bit of all three.

He was getting absolutely pummeled by ND fans on Twitter for a bit after that first article. It had to have been a conscious effort to not discuss Carr, a top-5 performer at the event, when he discussed all the other QB’s the first time around. I just don’t know what his grudge would have been.

CJ has been on campus a ton so far, I wonder if he is going to be here every game during the season.

I wish he would get into the ears of some of our defensive recruits we are going after.

3* recruit....

He’s tried. Maybe as hard as some of the defensive staff.

He is really good Top 50 player. Certainly not a 3 star. This is the type of QB we want.
Rate him a 2 star. Then watch everyone's shock when he leads us to a natty. Hell rate the entire team 2 stars! Then watch the shock!

To me, he's our best QB prospect since Golson--you watch the film and its hard to imagine him not panning out.

It's like we are getting a developed Kizer with a better attitude (although DK was an underrated runner).

He can do what he can, but I don't consider him responsible for any of it. I realize that there is an impact he's going to have on his class and future classes, but at the end of the day I lived through the time when Jimmy Clausen was supposed to be the pied piper of recruiting and that ultimately didn't really amount to much on the defensive side of the ball outside of Gary Gray, Ian Williams, Emeka Nwankwo and Brian Smith in the end. Marvin Austin, Chris Galippo, Eric Berry and those other dudes who were top rated on defense all signed somewhere else. It was no fault of Clausen or anyone else's really. It's just how it goes.
