I understand he's young, but he's had more than enough time to make a decision. He is stringing ND or OU along. There's no other way to spin it. If he wasn't sold on ND he should have decommitted a while ago and explored his options. He was always going to be a take no matter what.

edit: this goes for other kids in his position as well, not just because he's an ND commit.

Fong with the trending to OU comment on OU's board. I hate how this kid dragged this thing out. Just back off your commitment early on instead of leaving ND hanging.
until i read mom saying on social media that he is going to OU then i don't buy it. mom drives the car in this recruitment from what i've read and she wants ND unless thing have changed with her like OU offering her bags of money up front

If he choses Oklahoma I'll lose all respect for this kid simple as that. You don't stay committed to the team you orginally committed to and they let you visit others schools while you stay committed and string the along and then jump ship at the last minute. I'd respect him more if he decommitted 6 months ago and took his time and chose Oklahoma .

Not really much of a question, hasn’t been that he’ll decommit. Just a matter of when. As soon as he still wasn’t firm after Clemson I accepted its over and probably been over for months. Hope he at least has the balls to do it to Freeman’s face in the last in home. All been building to that.

At least the staff didn't take their foot off the gas in terms of recruiting safeties.

Adding Minich and Hillman to Shuler and Bowen was huge.

Even if you lose Bowen, you've still got a high-upside three-man group. You just don't have a guy that steps in as a day-one difference maker, unfortunately, but you may not necessarily need that if they convince Joseph to come back, and get quality offseason development from Henderson or Watts.

IF he decommits, the staff should tell players they're recruiting to not commit unless they're sure of their decision. If they're going to keep taking visits to the same school they're not committed to, then just decommit. The staff will still continue to recruit them, however. ND shouldn't be a placeholder while they try to get other people around them on board to go to another school or shop around for more lucrative NIL deals down the line.

"and they told him they don't play that game."
Great overall info on all this stuff thanks.

I tried to get some talent to come and play at my wedding and they tried to pull some $/hr baloney. I told them that I don't play that game. They can advertise that they played my wedding and that'll get them paying gigs at Malls and stuff, plus I offered to teach them all kinds of business admin as well that would help them after. They said no and played some stadium in Alabama.

That's effectively how ND has operated this year.

ND didn't stop recruiting safety after landing Bowen and Shuler, because they knew Bowen was iffy.

You must not know the power of the vag 😂🤣

I feel like no one has any idea, not even Bowen himself. Maybe he'll have a convo with God the night before. 🤷‍♂️
I'm thinking anyone on or near campus might want to go light a candle at the Grotto that night before signing day. Bowen gets this epiphany and realizes his commitment was always the right thing and is the first to fax in his letter.

Do the ND "insiders" ever tell the truth to subscribers about negative news? I mean do people pay just to have smoke blown up their ass?

No but they’ll start saying things like ND is expecting him to sign based off their conversations or he’s told ND he will sign and just play dumb word games that give an out.

If he's still verballed this late, I think he ends up sticking. It would be pretty shitty to screw a team in the 11th hour like that, a team you built relationships with and they were counting on you. Why not just decommit earlier? If he wants a future as an NFL starter he knows we'll do a better job to get him there.

There was a poster a while back that made a comment on 247 that Bowen already backed off his pledge, but ND coaches told him to be quiet about it to try and keep their class together. I didn't believe it at the time, but honestly, nothing surprises me anymore with recruiting.

I highly doubt that happened especially considering it's been reported he still talks with the guys in this class and place video games with them

Freeman crushes in home Peyton signs with ND and becomes an all American and we win natty his junior year
That tracks. That'll be Carr's Sophomore year. Wish it was sooner though.

sorry you don't like what i said but i'm just telling what i've heard and read over the past year when it comes to his recruitment. don't know why you would be surprised to hear about a parent controlling a kid's recruitment because it happens all the time
