Unless he's going to visit new schools, I don't see why he needs to take more visits. He's been to OU and A&M countless times, and went up to Oregon two weeks ago. I know he's mentioned Michigan and yet to visit there, but jeez, how much more do you need to see at this point.

His own words, or atleast what had been reported, were that he wanted to make a final decision before his playoffs start - which would be this weekend.

I walked right past him on the field and I turned to my brother and said I think that’s Peyton Bowen but I’m not sure. Wish I was 100% certain cause I would have said what’s up and got a pic

Bedlam is next week. It’s ridiculous if they didn’t have/don’t plan to have in the coming days a conversation of when this ends. If we’re just back at OU next week, what was the point?

Recruits are being given money to go on visits (or not visit in some cases), if the bag is big enough I don't blame a kid for not shutting things down before he has to.

I am positive that there are personalities who like to do things simply because they are fun and nobody's stopping them, so why not?

If I was that type of player, and had those types of opportunities, I'd also play my cards strategically close, so I didn't look only like a predator to the coaching staff at the visited school. (It was a he!l of a lot more fun the one time I attended a closed practice to be able to talk with the coaching staff, rather than just stand around semi-idle.)

Whether this applies to Bowen, and in our favor, who knows? But it's hardly a mystery to me to see some kids staying sphinx like while enjoying their weekends at big events.

Yeah he is almost definitely getting cash to do nothing but have a blast at various colleges. Can't say I blame him. If an ND booster/collective wanted to lock him down on an NIL deal, they could. This is just the free market at work.

Texas site piece on flipping commits. Bowen mentioned on the side, not Greathouse
Ryan on the IB podcast yesterday basically talked about us not going by this false crack that other sights are writing and that he thinks Bowen is still solid. he talked about how our class of 24 DL recruit from Michigan is going through the same false writing about him and that his dad is really pissed off about it

It would seem hard to imagine losing Bowen to OU and A&M now but the fact he's, seemingly, increasing the scope of his recruitment. Now Oregon and Texas, can't be viewed as a positive. Very similar to Dante Moore. When you are looking, this hard, for something. You are bound to find it.

The good news is, Loy likes ND for Hilman. I really like Barnes. My hope is the staff is preparing to load up on skill players and worst case scenario is with Peyton doesn't bite us too bad.

bottom line is this kid just should've never committed in the first place. If I were the staff I wouldn't even consider him committed and recruit him as if he weren't. At best a "soft" verbal to use old terminology.

With virtually all 5-star guys there is an NIL component. There is a reason that he is "broadening" his search to two of the bigger NIL schools. All these guys have reasons to play out the process and consider all factors relevant to them.

I think this year you will see a lot of top guys flipping close to ESP. I don't know if that will include Bowen or not, but I really don't think he's going to TAMU at this point, and I'm skeptical on Oklahoma too for different reasons.
