I was being sincere! You people need to grow a pair. But also someone should celebrate Kenny's perseverance in his own thread!

More so it does not seem we are out of the woods here completely yet

Sorry, I don't do the pay site rumor mills. Is Kenny transferring a real concern? That would be a mistake, for him.

Ok:

- Meeting with Minchey today (NIL, and role moving forward)

- ND is willing to bump his compensation fairly significantly.

- He would prefer to stay, but NIL needs to be in order, and he would like to discuss the concept of packages designed specifically for him, even if he never starts.

- If Minchey were to leave, ND has already looked at potential portal candidates, and back-channeled.

The above ^

I reckon if a dude sticks with his initial school right through he should get an extra year of eligibility so you'd get 5 years of elibility and 6 years to use them.
Ya know, a rule where transferring costs you a year of eligibility on the back end rather than having to sit out might be pretty interesting.

I want fewer super seniors and super duper seniors. I don't want to incentivize them to take up roster spots. I want them to get a job and become adults.

Why? Unless you have a job where you are supposed to hire athletes who cares?

It's the rub of semi-pro vs student athlete. College ball was supposed to be a means to get a degree for free in exchange for your work as an athlete. The goal for 99% of them was to get that degree and then move on with your life. Now the incentives are reversed where it's a genuine financial opportunity for many of them and everyone wants to stick around as long as they can. Most who stick around for longer are not pursuing an advanced degree, they are just treading water and making money. I don't begrudge any individual for wanting to make money, but there is a societal question of whether the system should be incentivizing people to tread water in college. But even if you think "the market sets a worker's value so they are simply staying where they have the most value" there's also the simple fact that for every super senior at Notre Dame, there's one less freshman coming in. So this isn't "Hooray, more people are making more money." It's a zero sum game.

This sums up my thoughts well.
