He was the head coach at De Smet in St. Louis (former HS of Jordan Johnson) and he was rumored to be a possible addition to Kelly’s staff at ND in the past.

Yes, that was him. That was when the DB Jaklin Johnson was there & most thought that if ND hired Steeples they would get Johnson too. ND hired Mickens instead.

I don’t think we’d slow play him. Mickens wouldn’t exactly get push back on just getting as many kids in as possible with the CB room as is still. Toviano is potentially a S recruit as well.

This isn't the old staff. They won't slow play a top 10 player or whatever CG is. They will keep pushing for all their top players and let them join when they are ready.

Hopefully he just missed that.

He was like 10 when the movies started coming out. Even younger when the books were popular. The kids at school probably were hopefully naive to that sorta thing at that time. Pretty sure that series is geared towards adult women rather than adolescent/teen girls like Twilight.

We only have 7 DB’s, still with the team, from the last two classes. That’s one short for a tradition 4 DB system and with the prevalence of Nickel/Dime packages I would think we should start recruiting more towards 5 DB’s. Anyways, we’re looking at 5 DB’s as a minimum. No way Gray isn’t part of that math. If I were the staff, I’d go for 6 and take all the players that want to compete from the current board.

Totally agree, especially since schools are going hard trying to flip out current committed DBs

Definitely need Gray (or parents, others involved) to call BS on the pitch. It’s a rather clear pitch that he knows he’s going against ND here and BK can wave a wand and make LSU a high academic school.

I have thought since Steeples got hired that he lands there, but his comments to me feel like a post-visit high that do not reflect reality. If he was raving about LSU's corner development and history, then you would think ND is in trouble here. If he is serious about the academic aspect, then basic research and stats will bode well for ND once the high wares off.
