Drove from Greenville, SC to Cincinnati for chili day Friday. I delivered a car to my son who is still in Cincinnati. Ate Cincinnati chili three times between 4:00 PM Friday and 2:00 PM Saturday when I flew back home.

Bet y’all can guess where I am sitting while writing this post…

It’s kind of amazing that Salvatori’s started next to a gas station. It overcame that stigma and opened 6 “legit” stand alone restaurants because the food is really good. They consistently rank as the #1 Italian restaurant in Fort Wayne.

I’ve had pizza from some of the other locations and it’s really good. Some people swear the New Haven pizza is “the best” for whatever reason.
I had Salvatori’s in Waynedale for dinner again last night. Tried the sausage roll and it was fantastic.

Pizza is great too obviously. The breadsticks however I think are average at best.

Any fellow Indy natives ever been here on the west side? I’m hearing some of the best authentic Mexican in town.

Edit: just finished lunch. Had the steak burrito and an elote. Very good and I recommend to any west siders. The homemade hot sauces are delicious. W. Washington and High School Rd. just off 465.

So you have to eat Cincy chili over spaghetti? Can you have it over fries? Is that American cheese? Bobs big boy used to have something like that. Never ordered it.

I remember like 40-50 years ago going out bar hopping with a buddy in downtown Milwaukee and at 3 in the morning he insisted on stopping by a local institution called Real Chili, which seemed a similar concoction to this Cincinnati stuff. Crappy chili over spaghetti. I remember that I wasn't really sick to my stomach after a night of drinking, but I was after eating that pile of puke. Horrible stuff.

Got to wonder about chili where the ground beef is basically boiled and never see’s a frying pan. I live in CA so haven’t really seen it out here. Anyone know of a Cincy like chili place out here in LA? We have Tommy’s and Pinks but that goes on top of burgers, fries and dogs not pasta. Maybe they should start putting beans in the Cincy chili? That should piss off some Cincy loyalists.

You can put it on fries - you can put it on hot dogs - you can put it on nacho chips - you can order a bowl of it with nothing else.

Cinci chili on spaghetti comes several way. You can add onions or black beans.

The Glogogym bros went to Chili's after workout Friday night. I paid $25ish for a shrimp fajita. They got a '3 for me' special which is appetizer/drink/main for @$12. I'm annoyed that no one mentioned it.
