Let’s say at worst he is the #3 pick this year, for reference, Abdul Carter got $45m guaranteed contract and a $29m signing bonus as the #3 pick this year. Coming back for let’s say $9m is a head scratcher knowing that you could have $75m guaranteed. The risk of falling later than 3rd far outweighs the chance of moving up to #1 or #2.

Next year's QB class is going to be absolutely loaded. #1 pick could realistically be any 1 of CJ Carr, Dante Moore, Arch Manning, Julian Sayin, Jayden Maiava or Sam Leavitt. If I'm an NFL team in need of a QB and I can't get Mendoza this year (Raiders), I'm probably going to find a 1-year stop-gap and wait for my QB until next year!
