He will be in the top 2
This DUDE is a current LEADER of the LB corp. LOL
  • Started all 16 games for the Irish… totaled 78 tackles – 40 solo, 38 assisted… had at least one tackle in each game of the season… led the team in forced fumbles with three… was third on the team in total tackles… added four tackles for loss… posted two quarterback hurries and two pass breakups… recorded first-career sack against Miami (Ohio)… had seven assisted tackles and one solo tackle in the National Championship.... AS A SOPHMORE
Also Lets give MFMF a say:

Yeah all offseason people have raved about Drayk. I think it's far more likely he's a Captain than getting the 3rd most snaps at LB, let alone 4th.

According to "Coach D" and the Irish Breakdown crew, there's a contingent of ND fans that are lukewarm on him.

Probably a thinly veiled shot at either Prister or Pete or both said something along the lines of they have to see it with Bowen first before last season. But since they saw it, in Week 1, they’ve been fans ever since.

That film gets me so hyped for this year. Bowen looks so damn disciplined and then violent when he triggers. I hope Ash stills calls the game aggressively.
Great word to describe Bowen and a different kind of LB than Teo and Smith. When the helmet goes on Bowen the lights go out, he is going to be fun to watch this season.

Still think he's the most important, or at least THE bellwether recruit of the last twenty years. Changed the whole eye level of the program. A killer, a leader, not better than say Jaylon or Manti but the kind of guy who was otherwise a fit who went to OSU or Florida (or I guess Auburn in this case) ten times out of ten under Kelly et al.

Which guy are you talking about?

I'm not sure he's different than Teo. Teo was a killer.

I don't think the difference is that he's more of a killer than Te'o, who is plainly imo on a different level as a linebacker. It's that Te'o was primarily guided to Notre Dame by his faith and a desire to do something different, something extraordinary. Drayk was also primarily guided to Notre Dame by his faith, only in this case it was his faith in the power of beating the brakes off of guys and a desire to whoop ass all the time and win lots of football games and go to the NFL. Generally speaking the former group self-selects for ND, while the latter group has not since Holtz.

Absolutely no doubt in my mind he's a 5 star of he goes to any of those schools. He was a top 25 player that randomly free falled once he committed. Ausberry also randomly free falled from top 30.

I think the whole perception of ND is different with 2 returning "Five Star Linebackers" on defense. We are probably ranked top 3.

I think Bowen’s instincts are at Manti’s level, and his physicality is above Jaylon’s. He’s a great middle linebacker and the other linebackers on our roster compliment him well.

Btw, that highlight tape reminded me that I hate the white pants. Even more so when the opponent is wearing white pants

Bowen - Outstanding asset
Teo - Legendary
Jaylon - Probably best 3-and-done ND player ever (Ismail was a god but not as well-rounded)

When you bring up ND LB instincts, though, I've gotta bring up Mike Stonebreaker:
Best run defense instincts of all time? Quite possibly.
Best pass coverage instincts of all time? Probably, yes.
Best blitz-related instincts of all time? Not even a question.
Best overall instincts of all time? Not even a question.

Mike missed two seasons for academic reasons and was a 9th round pick who finished his NFL career with eight tackles, but in a world where everyone had the same physical gifts, he'd be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. As it was, he was All-American two out of three years at ND, even when splitting time with All-American Ned Bolcar and fellow stud Wes Pritchett, on his way to the College Football Hall of Fame. The irony was his dad had the far better pro career.
