You've got some people talking shit about his play at times this season when he was really solid, then you find out he was playing injured. Reminds me of Farley at Safety who went on to play 8 years as an active NFL player (Not practice squad)

IDK who was talking shit, outside of one play that the offensive player played perfectly in a scenario he should've never been in, he was outstanding.

I don't know what it is, but our LBs catch crap online from armchair QBs. This is despite the fact in recent years they've typically done their job pretty well.

You can stay active with a torn hip labrum. It aches and causes you to think your hip will give out, but you can definitely believe you're "hurt" rather than "injured".

Source - I've had one and didn't do anything about it for a couple years

What's everyone's thoughts here. Obviously not a huge payday as a fifth rounder but would he be better served taking it or going to college? Personally the 3-4 years to mature in college seems like the right route but you're definitely betting on yourself. Hard to get better than a fifth rounder.

I would be shocked if he didn't sign. These MLB clubs are evaluating talent AND the likelihood that they will sign. No MLB team is going to draft a guy in the 5th round unless they are pretty confident that they will sign. If a team thinks that you are a 5th round talent but thinks there is a 30% chance you would sign-----you aren't getting drafted in the 5th round, you likely go undrafted that year or you slide to a round much later in the draft.

Generally speaking most guys with 5th round talent and drafted in the 5th round will sign. Bowen's slot for his signing bonus will be roughly $460,000. He could get more or less, just depends on how the negotiations go. High School players tend to negotiate higher signing bonuses than their slot because they have a ton of leverage because they can just go to college.

Players who get drafted in the 5th round would also gain some advantages in the development process. A high draft pick will be given every advantage. If they struggle, the team would likely give them an extra year or two to figure things out. A kid drafted much later on in the draft won't have that advantage.
