You have 5 of the last 10 posts on this page. Are you talking to yourself? Your posts about what you would do, or what should be happening, or who we should be recruiting, or how this guy seems good, but really isn't are getting tired. You take over almost all of these threads with you "expert" opinions. Seems if you were as qualified as you believe you are, you would be coaching for a living, or at least working in someone's front office, breaking down film, correcting the coaches, or anything else you have posted about.
Do you have a difference of opinion other than "players aren't perfect". Bring some value, don't be afraid to let your opinions be known, or heck, support them with facts.

The problem is all our guys work best in the slot. Thomas last year did his damage as the slot receiver. We have limited outside guys and colzie being hurt pretty much all year and Merriweather being bad just magnifies that. Greathouse can most likely play outside depends how healthy he is but bad recruiting for years at the position kinda screwed them over this year

It’s why I hate our route concepts. They’re set up like we have some stud outsides… we should be running way more crossers, posts, drags that our wrs can do well. Thomas is a big body and a good athlete but not fast, let him work over middle more. Tyree and faison can take the top off, greathouse and Rico have good hands and bodies to work some openings inside. There should be so much more better schemed opportunities for our wrs with how much attention is given to the run. Also, Tobias is good at running deep and opening up space for others.

I’d rank biggest issues in order as

Offensive play calling
Wr play
Oline play or Safety play (other than watts)
Dl development after mills cross baptiste
Lb development

You seem to have some good knowledge and ideas on the game.

However, visually this represents how your points come across; after a lot of exhausting words. 1698167063313.png

I'd be surprised if Merriweather doesn't transfer. The writing's on the wall, just like Jordan Johnson. The II guys have been very consistent in saying that Merriweather has never been impressive in practice. I just don't think he can play at this level

In terms of receiving options, he'll be behind Greathouse, Flores, Cam Williams, Staes, and probably at least 2 of J. Thomas, Tyree, and Evans (hopefully all three come back)
The HC of ND yesterday said that they 100% trust Merriweather to make plays and that they need to get him the ball more. Prepare to be surprised when he doesn't transfer imminently.

What’s Freeman gonna say? “Yeah Merriweather has really sucked this year”
Agree and hopefully he or someone at the position makes some plays the next two weeks because Pitt and Clemson are capable of slowing down our run game

He actually has things to say and uses examples. High frequency posts, which I'll personally welcome all day whether I agree with someone or not.

Yours is a low frequency post. Nothing said, nothing insightful, just "I don't like you dummy" stuff. Low F.
Not surprising you would feel this way. I actually came to this site a few years ago, as I was able to piece together some intel on recruits that had been picked up by others, and posted here, from places like 247 or rivals. Or there could be some information on coaching moves, either at Notre Dame or other places that someone might pick up before national news got to it. Now, it seems like every thread gets taken over by amateur coaches who think they are skilled enough to know what should have been done.

Do I know that the o line got their asses kicked against Louisville? Of course I do. Has Tobias had a confidence issue? Sure thing. Does Parker need to call better plays? Probably, but I would also argue that the limited wr room due to numbers and health may affect what can be run.

Here is what I also know. There are 12/13, and hopefully one day, 14 Notre Dame games a year to watch. I choose not to constantly bitch about them for a week on end. What I also know is that I am not qualified to present myself as some sort of expert on how things should have been done, nor are the people on here who think they are.

But what really pisses me off is that I have managed to get dragged into one of these pointless, stupid internet bitch fests!!

There was no dragging, you couldn’t resist

I’m not ready to cave in and accept ND can never win another title. I think we’re close and should have had a great chance this year, and parker imo is biggest reason why we have 2 losses

Way too many people get their heads too far up their asses about recruiting bullshit. These dudes still have to come in and do all the work during the other six days of the week. On the field and off of it. We see games and snippets of what is happening at practice. The bozos people pay money to give updates about things we can't see for ourselves. I don't put a great deal of expectations on these guys when they sign as recruits. Real life and human elements play a factor into what goes on from that point forward.

When the guys like Tobias and Sneed are not getting a bulk of the reps, there is a reason for that, and it isn't necessarily because they're lazy players or the coaches are stupid. To borrow the annoying phrase, "it is what it is." They're second string because in this moment, that's what they are and it isn't anyone's fault or an oversight of lack of any particular individual doing or not doing something.

A+ for self awareness. He actually does run like that lol.

I wonder if posters here will attack Rico for his self reflection..

I think we already covered this extensively. He was never brought in to be the fastest, it's not who he is. ND knows that, he knows that, we know that. He is the guy that runs his routes exceptionally well and has really good hands.

I’ll take a “slower” guy that understands route concepts and coverages. This baptism by fire will only be beneficial for Rico.

Ya know, you have a lot of bizarre takes that I disagree with but this passive aggressive behavior where you are trying to start disagreements is the thing that really pushes people over the top. You used to do this all the time in your former IE life and it's what made so many people angry. Just stop it.

It will be interesting to see how greathouse and Rico develop. I'm not sure you can have a dynamic offense that we want with both getting a large share of WR snaps. They seem very similar. Mature for their age physically and mentally, good hands, good knowledge, hard working, but not much length or speed. I feel like greathouse has a little more potential but his injury obviously hurt him, and both of them having to play outside when they belong at the slot position isn't ideal.

I think they'll be 2 good/solid wrs that are very reliable.

I'm not starting a disagreement, I'm following up on a conversation that lasted several threads and pages because people panicked when PutUp accurately explained that Rico isn't a field WR and can't separate well.

I will post what/how I feel like, thank you for your concern.

Feels like a Chip Long offense where big/strong WRs are at a premium for blocking purposes. Not sure if by design or just by taking who was interested. This works but have to get some burners too.

I don't completely agree with Pops because there have been some solid WR recruits that lived up to the hype under Kelly, but I get what he is saying. Flores is going to come in ready to contribute right away. Very polished and great route runner and physically ready. Of James, Greathouse, Hanafin, and Flores, I'd bet Flores has the best freshman year, but one of the others gets drafted higher.

In a sea of crap hot takes by myself, this one is looking pretty good from June, though if Greathouse had a more reliable hamstring probably would have been incorrect. This is why we volume shoot our takes.

Agree. I knew Rico wasn't a burner, but i'm a little shocked that he's actually slow. Thought he had descent speed in HS film.

The 2024 WR class is what you really want every class to be like (easier said than done)

Cam - All around Stud
Gilbert - Size/Strength, good ball skills and solid athleticism
Saldate - Good WR good speed

Only thing really missing is that overall absolutely high end speed and or shiftiness.

Needs to develop a little more explosiveness. Doable in a college S&C program

IMO he just needs other speed WRs around him. If he never gets faster he will be a factor for 4 years, but he's going to excel if we have 2 WRs around him the safeties have to worry about.

Him and Greathouse may end up being beasts after the catch which is a big deal. Corners that enjoy tackling are unicorns.
