BK has been on enough of these in homes he knows how they go. Either the food is terrible and they dont last long or the foods great and they drag out. He tasted them tips and said cant have this dragging out and decided to make sure there were no seconds for the rest of the staff.

Yep, Mr. Merriweather also mentioned Kelly was looking at his phone quite often during the visit, which seemed a little strange, and finally stepped outside for a 15 minute call.

Well, let's look on the bright side....at least it wasn't pornhub.

I can just picture BK’s fat ass eating as quick he can trying to finish his meal before the LSU news breaks.

Wait until he dives his fat ass into a couple helpings of jambalaya down in Cajun country.

So much opportunity for the WR or WR’s that take advantage of it in this class. I’m sure they gotta see that. By Tobias’s Sophomore year there will only 3 WR’s that have seniority in him, lol.

He strikes me as the type that’ll think it’s “too spicy”

What's the proper etiquette here when eating at a recruit's home? I sorta get going to town on the grub offered to you, but what about the after dinner inevitabilities? Especially when the entire house only has a one-seater and/or is situated right next to the family room? Do you go get all ruthless on the porcelain then strut out like you own the place, the disgusting odors practically visible to the naked eye? Or do you try and go all quaint and feminine about it and try and whisper it all out?

I also wonder if Kelly has had to ever yell from the bathroom, "Hey, can somebody bring me some more toilet paper," or "hey, sorry to bother you, but can you tell me where the plunger is?" I wonder if Kelly has ever lost a recruit cause he set off bombs in the toilet and backsplashed all over the toilet seat?

Not sure which player I'm pulling for more in next year's class now, Merriweather or Ford. His dad is hilarious.

He tallied up the responses too, and I assume checked out Frankie's!

Is he an EE? How do you guys feel about him? He's my 3rd want out of CJ Williams/Amorion. I just don't think he has much speed or suddenness but he can still find a role as a possession guy and we desperately need someone who can take some snaps next year and push for a starting job in 2023.

Strongly feel TM is the best of that group. Has plenty of size, acceleration, and speed

In my opinion, he is by far the best prospect of the three in terms of ceiling + skills. Walker has the best ceiling, but is the most unknown quantity. CJ Williams is very polished and has good hands but On3 sports thinks he is crazy overrated because he lacks elite size + speed. He also got shut down by the best corners he faced.

Merriweather has crazy athleticism for his size and makes tons of game breaking plays against poor competition. He is going to need to be developed as a route runner and I’m skeptical that he will play meaningful snaps next year unless there is a WR exodus or the next coach is better than Del at developing players.

Didn’t TM win a state sprint championship or something like it? He’s not slow if he did

I struggle to see WR speed in film so glad he's expected to have that. He recorded a 10.95 100m which I wouldn't say is blazing but it's not bad.

Dude has some serious long arms which if he uses them, will be a big factor in his development.

I'm no film expert or scout, but most people seem to say that his best trait is his speed. I get what you're saying about his 100M times, I just looked them up and they are not good. If he only looks "fast" because it's bad competition then that would suck.

Wanna see some wheels? Stick around for the anchor on that 4x100

Fifth from the bottom on this 200 meters. He’s rough out of the blocks to the point where it takes 50 meters to make up the ground he lost. Once he gets up to speed he absolutely torches the field.

And if you’re worried he’s a slow starter instead of just being rough with the blocks watch that 4 x 100 relay leg.

A sub 11.00 in the 100 meters is a very good time. It’s on par with what C J Procise was running in high school. It also doesn’t do him justice because he’s a tall kid who’s at a disadvantage in the blocks.

He is long, he is fast, and you can see some fantastic footwork on dig routes in his film. He has serious tools.

I thought CJ ran like a 10.8, but these are good points in general.

Merriweather is an elite talent. He’s an exceptional addition to the class/roster. It’ll just be about how fast they can get him on the field.

With that said, the problem isn’t just high end talent. It’s that we have no depth. Our projected 2023 depth chart is literally so bad it’s inconceivable how someone got paid a couple millions dollars, over the the course of multiple years to do it. It was poorly conceived and poorly executed.

Everybody keeps saying, we’ll hit the portal. Well, we’re going to be hitting the portal for multiple years because of this.

We need more complete recruiting from the offensive side of the ball. Rees, your up.

Yeah, I'm avoiding work today. From CJ's profile here:

Some info here from the "trenches." Got a chance to talk to a guy who coaches at a local private school at Memorial Day festivities. Their school plays Woodberry Forest so I asked him about CJ and here is what he had to say:

-Described him as an extremely fluid athlete.
-Mentioned that he might be the best overall athlete in the VISAA.
-Asked him if he felt he was underrated, he said "no" because "being one of the top 25 players at your position in the country is damn good."
-Said he was actually surprised he wasn't trying to play corner because of his ability to win 50/50 balls... said he has great leaping ability and concentration.
-Said he doesn't really have elite agility or "scat" ability which makes him a better defensive player than offensive player... and then adjusted his previous comment to say that's also probably why he projects at S more than CB... but still feels like he would be great in a zone coverage scheme.
-Said he's a leaner and more athletic version of Cody Grimm. Said they both play with great football instincts if you watch their game film or see them in person. Probably has a higher ceiling than Cody if he can bulk up and contribute in run defense. Says Cody's most underrated attribute is he has incredible 10 yard burst speed and is thus a great distance closer... he's not sure if CJ has that, but CJ is definitely "faster" and has more God-given ability than Cody.

On an unrelated another note, don't know why this didn't hit me before, but his #2 in the state track time was because he doesn't compete in the much more competitive public VHSL. His 10.99 was good enough for #22 in the state. Certainly good, but not super-duper.

I was just about to make a counter point until I looked back at the 2019 class and saw that Del didn't sign ONE receiver. Our entire depth chart at WR was dependent on Jordan Johnson being a stud. Crazy...

I understand the sentiment and I don't disagree with any of it. But it is reassuring to know we should have at minimum 2 very good TEs and 3-4 very good RBs with at least one fo them capable of being flexed out. We can mask the depth issue a bit until we get this corrected. We need Rees and Freeman to do their best recruiting pitch to keep Lenzy/Austin/Davis in the fold for next year. Along with our 3 young WRs and potentially 2-3 more with 22 and portal, we shoudl still be able to field a very competitive unit.

I get the consternation but this is not the OL. You don't need 3+ years to be prepared for a starting spot. Young WRs with enough athletic potential can play their way onto the field.

I'm the slow one I guess. Who/where is he in that 4x100? Is he the winner in the final seconds, or which lane is he?

If we only sign 1 WR this class. Over the last 4 classes (2019-2022), we'll have signed 4 WR's that are still on the roster, at WR.

It's truly inconceivable to me that Del and those who are overseeing Del in Tommy/BK, etc. could let this happen. It didnt all happen at once. They've had plenty of time to address this.
