He’s a mobile Christian Hackenberg
This would mean Hackenberg was stuck in cement. Allar is not grading out as mobile among NFL scouts.

Teams will be enamored with his measurables and look past the fact that he’s just meh.
I think this is accurate. A QB desperate team with a top ten pick that lacks responsible adults in their war room will do the deed and pay the price for it. I don't think he's in the League long.

Am I the only one who felt bad for him after that pick?
I mean totally stoked he threw it obviously, but still feel bad for him.

Oh, it's horrible for him. Handling failure like this takes a great amount of resiliency.

Said he was on his 3rd read and trying to throw an incomplete pass at the wr's feet

This is the price of being a QB, I guess.

I really hope that rumor about Allar partying with hookers this morning was true because it would make this so much funnier.

I've never drank the Kool Aid here. I tend to lean toward "there is a reason" when it comes to guys getting not getting offered until late or at all. I am going to trust the judgment of the people who are paid to make those decisions. Maybe I disagree or maybe I'm disappointed, but we're talking about high school kids. Hindsight is really 20/20 since Luke Kuechly.

I am really starting to wonder if NFL scouts like him as much as we are being led to believe they do. He's a big white kid that has prototypical size NFL scouts like in a pocket passing QB, but he looks nothing like what the NFL in 2025 and beyond would demand. Riley Leonard isn't Dan Marino either, but RL isn't being touted as a first round draft pick.

I think Allar is what he is. This is the ceiling.

This is what QBs, Pitchers, and Goalies have to deal with daily. One needs to learn from one’s mistakes and improve. If not, you are going to be pedestrian the rest of one’s career.
This. If you want the spotlight that comes with those positions, it shines brighter when you win and when you lose.

Honestly with how much of a head case he is and how brutal that pick was, I’d say it’s 50/50 he’s able to bounce back next year

ohhhh I can remember all the great football coaches on here clamouring how much of loss this was and how we fumbled this one....just reason # 1,000,000 that our coaches(even BK) know more than the keyboard wizards on here w/ their hot takes as gospel

Not in the least. Dude already had two picks called back, the second one on a TERRIBLE PI flag on a grossly underthrown ball.

He's not some underclassmen youngster...it's common knowledge that QBs should NEVER throw back over the middle that late in their progression. He did anyway.

Nothing to feel bad about. He didn't play well. That's football. None of us felt bad for Riley when he threw his picks, we expect better and frankly so does he.

He was really not good last night. The two picks that were wiped out were really bad balls. Obviously the one that wasn't wiped out. Cost them an easy touchdown early when he shortarmed that pass to the RB on 3rd and goal. No completions to wide receivers or much of anything downfield. Lousy body language/demeanor. We didn't even really get all that much pressure on him most of the time.
I don't get it, the first-round pick talk. And he's been a starter for two full seasons now. He probably is what he is.

If Hackenberg can get drafted in the 2nd round, anything is possible. NFL teams love tall, big-bodied QBs, regardless of their resume.
