I agree with this. The first sack he was absolutely waiting for something to develop downfield and really put some (more) doubt in folks minds, but Wagner got beat up too and he took a sack. He didn’t even look at underneath options on that, he was going for a kill shot.
I think he had a 1 on 1 on the outside, receiver was turning to go out, but was knocked down by DB, had to eat the ball. Maybe could have thrown it away, would have looked smart.

I think Angeli could run pretty good those designed runs that Leonard had.

Leonard legs bring an exciting element to the offense at times. But his inability to complete passes downfield is far too limiting for the offense. Angeli would run a more balanced offense that gives us a chance to beat better teams and defenses.

We have Love and Price to lean on in the run game and really good defenses will force us into 3rd and longs. We need to have a QB that gives us a better chance to convert those.

Steve is undoubtedly a better passer than Leonard.

Those two sacks do worry me though, questionable decision making.

Those plays you can tell they are “cut the field in half” plays with a single or maybe a second passing option and then third is tuck and run. Totally designed for RL

It was a little disconcerting watching a Notre Dame QB attack the field vertically. Has been a bit since we’ve seen that.

I think Steve needs to play. ND owes it to the current WRs and the ghosts of WRs who also never got to play true WR (Lenzy). However going to be tougher to do it now with 2, say 3 starting OL out if you go back to Charles J.

And yet, like you said, he is clearly the better passer. By far. Sad state to be in right now. There is 100% a QB controversy whether anyone admits it or not. Will the media have the balls to press MF on it? Probably not.

That’s my concern. Can a patched together OL give a drop back passer like Angeli enough time to be effective against a good defense?

Will slay next year at Cuse.

Not many 2 QB systems I can remember working out but I think this merits a go at Urban's FL or Stoops' team we played in '12

I agree. I get the whole if you have two quarterbacks, you don't have one trope; however, I do think that is the best path forward for the short term. Use that as a means to determine who QB1 is to take us down the stretch and, God willing, playoffs.

Yeah, the "two quarterbacks" thing gets thrown around a lot, but it can be successful if the QBs are actually good. Usually it doesn't work because you've got two mediocre QBs and can't settle on one. Riley obviously excels at running, Angeli is the better passer. We've got more talent in our QB room than we've had in awhile, I think we could make it work.

Worked out pretty well for ND with Buchner and Coan until Kelly left and the bowl game was left to Tommy and a lost Freeman.

The ideal situation would be Leonard starts again for Miami and leads us to another first half blowout and we get Angeli more reps. I think in game experience is the only thing Angeli needs right now. I don't see him playing much vs. Louisville but hopefully more PT against Stanford. By November I would love to see him as the starter but this will not happen overnight

11 pass attempts and 13 handoffs so far this season. PFF feels like he is the Joe Montana of handoffs to the RB.
Reminds me of WAR in baseball in that it shouldn’t be taken into account as the sole measuring stick. So many other factors.
