I hope wherever he ends up that they aren’t on our 2025 schedule and he gets some run and shows out. Impossible for me to root against the guy. He’s as Irish as they come. I hope he ends up at a Wake/UVA/GT and absolutely balls.

Good on Steve for sticking it out as long as he did and doing what he could to try and win the job. Good on the staff for doing the right thing by him when it was clear it wasn’t happening. Every part of this is a clear culture win for the program. Hope he goes to a G5 school and we get to have a second team to root for this year

Steve had to have one of the most unique careers at ND. All he did was produce when he got his opportunites, yet for some reason plenty only focused on the negatives.

Held onto the ball too long, not the greatest arm downfield, etc. All I saw was a dude who competed and produced when his number was called.

ND doesn't get to the natty without his efforts against PSU.

They don't destroy Oregon St without his stellar performance form the get-go.

Gold doesn't beat Blue without his sneaky athleticism and ice in his damn veins as clock expired in 2022.

All jokes aside, he seemed like a great teammate and he is a very capable QB. Wishing him the best.

Athlon’s starting QB list:

Some of these teams added QBs so won’t be sniffing but he could reasonably start IMO at:

BC, Cuse, Wake, Stanford, Ok State, UCF, WVU, Maryland, Minnesota, Purdue, Rutgers or Wisconsin

Minnesota should call him is the most glaring one
I have a buddy whose family is very involved at SU. He heard they kicked the tires before and he declined. It’ll be interesting to see if they circle back

They beat South Carolina the prior year with Tyler at QB.

We dont beat PSU without his end of half spark. While I agree with the decision to go in the other direction, still sucks he wasn’t rewarded for his play. Best of luck to him.
Spot on. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of options in these situations. He was the Tommy Rees of 2024.
