ND has him listed at 5'11" 175 Ibs.
It's decent size, and we've had "smaller" safeties in the past. He's a bit on the lighter side, but you would have expected him to gain a bit of mass after a year or two.
My best guess:I would think some O-linemen will leave as well on top of a RB or two
Yep. Some of the beat guys have been throwing around 10-12 for awhile now. Which I think is pretty much par for the course. Most top 25 teams will have around that number I think.I think you're going to see up to a dozen guys enter the portal when all is said and done.
It wouldnt surprise me to see these guys added to your lost eitherMy best guess:
Osita Ekwonu
Michael Carmody
Kevin Bauman
Alexander Ehrensberger
Alex Peitsch
Justin Walters
Chance Tucker
Caleb Johnson
I also wouldn't be surprised if someone like Jack Kiser moved on because the staff wanted Sneed or Kollie to get more reps.
My guess - we fill in 4-5 transfers and walk-ons get scholarships...Someone please answer me how ND is going to adequately handle losing 10-12 kids each year in the portal. If our roster is at the max allowable and we can only bring in max 25 or kids per class and you lose half that to portal how do we make up that discrepancy?
You can't but remember that the Covid extra year of eligibility came around at the same time as open season on transfers. What we are seeing right now isn't the new normal.Someone please answer me how ND is going to adequately handle losing 10-12 kids each year in the portal. There isn't a 25 man limit this year or next year, and by the time it comes back, the NCAA rules might have changed or ND might have changed its transfer policy.Someone please answer me how ND is going to adequately handle losing 10-12 kids each year in the portal. If we're giving 5-7 walk ons scholarships every year, might as well wrap up the programMy guess - we fill in 4-5 transfers and walk-ons get scholarships...
Can we stop with the speculation (listing names)? We have no idea what these guys are thinking.
I asked that question the other day and I was met with “we did it last year”. But I agree. Losing 10 and adding 25 isn’t sustainable.Someone please answer me how ND is going to adequately handle losing 10-12 kids each year in the portal. ND had more the last two cycles. 10-12 would be a a small number. Seems like the overall number in college football as a whole entering the portal is going to grow again this cycle compared to past cycles I don’t see why ND would be in a position to see less. I think 15 might be the norm.I'm not sure that we'll see 10-12 actually transfer out every year. The podcasts last week were saying that this years transfers will be heavier due to more competition coming in at DB, and a lot of guys sticking it out due to the hype of Freeman getting the HC job last winter.
The new day of college football puts HS recruits in a weird spot. Even 5* guys. Most want to play now. Depth is a huge draw. Depth is and will be seemingly replaced every year with the portal. Might be good for ND because you will have kids stick that want to play the school thing but recruiting isn’t just HS now it’s actively recruiting your own roster and other teams rosters. It feels like it’s going to turn into club sports. If you can’t coach, poach and if I’m not gonna start I’m gonna dart.
The problem is a lot of these younger recruits think they are ready to come in and either start or get a lot of playing time. And i would bet probably 80% of new recruits or 1 year recruits just aren't ready.
What’s stopping them from going to Toledo or New Mexico State or some bottom feeder and being a big fish in a small pond then cashing out the next cycle? Treat these low class teams as the minor leagues. 🤷♂️The problem is a lot of these younger recruits think they are ready to come in and either start or get a lot of playing time. I’d be surprised on Bauman for sure. He was getting TE 1B snaps before his injury. Even with Mitch Evans being healthy, it would be pretty surprising to see him dip below 1B once againMy best guess:

I understand the concern, but I don't think that's going to be an issue moving forward.Someone please answer me how ND is going to adequately handle losing 10-12 kids each year in the portal. premium info?Still posting premium content I see. Don’t be a douche
Well, you only get one free transfer, for one thing. You want to be stuck at Toledo? Or stick it out a little bit at ND and see what happens? What’s stopping them from going to Toledo or New Mexico State or some bottom feeder and being a big fish in a small pond then cashing out the next cycle? I guess if you are a 3* star why even start at ND? Start somewhere you know you you’ll play then move on.Well, you only get one free transfer, for one thing. You want to be stuck at Toledo? Or stick it out a little bit at ND and see what happens?
Because we offer you a scholarship and the chance to play high-level football and get an elite degree?I guess if you are a 3* star why even start at ND? Start somewhere you know you you’ll play then move on.

Ok well our current class to be signed is only going to be around 25 people regardless. Where are we gonna get 10-12 more kids? There isn't a 25 man limit this year or next year, and by the time it comes back, the NCAA rules might have changed or ND might have changed its transfer policy.
