CB is a position you can step in and play as a true frosh somewhat regularly..... I expect him to get some burn. I just don't see the coaches starting him vs OSU unless he's just that much better.

I really wish Lewis would switch to safety and put on a few pounds.

Really ridiculous actually. How can one be a pre-season all American barely a week into camp if they weren't a 5 star or high 4 star? Essentially admitting their rankings are bunk.

IDK. It’s weird. I do know Freeman and staff have been very happy with him, but seems like a very silly ranking. Let’s hope On3 knows something.

Last year at this time I didn’t think we’d start the 2022 season with as strong (or hope to be) as a secondary. Been a nice surprise.

100% hype train. Which is fine, word on the street is that he's a baller. But he doesn't even have a clear path to PT at the moment.

Also, this is emblematic of why I hate On3. So much BS and so much sizzle. NIL "valuations" and other dumb crap.

He has a very clear path to PT.
Less clear of a path to "start" but by all accounts it appears he is going to be backup Nickel and a backup CB. He'll definitely be in the rotation.

The same way one recruit is ranked 100 and another is ranked 150. Speculation mostly.

Brandon Joseph had the most interceptions in the Big 10 in both 2020 and 2021. If Mickey is looking this good, our secondary could be nasty.

Agreed. Everyone is high on him so my guess is he'll see the field on ST quite a bit and he's probably the fourth DB right now behind Lewis, Hart and Bracy. If anyone gets banged up he'll be the next man up, whehter it's at nickel or on the outside. Even if they all stay healthy, he's going to play in any defensive package with 4 corners and it wouldn't surprise me if he pushes Bracy for reps at nickel.

I mean our beat dropped a ton of Mickey hype articles this offseason. We're a preseason top 5 team who has been getting even more attention from the national media than usual lately. Makes a bunch of sense to me why he might have gotten some love.

Yeah, it's no surprise. Along with Merriweather he's probably the Freshman Most Likely to Make an Impact this season, and maybe even more likely than Merriweather given our lack of raw talent at corner. To me the question is whether he can push not just Bracy for reps at nickel but Lewis for reps at corner. If he can do that then pre-season freshman All-American is warranted. We'll see.

So it’s not as if he was lost out there he’s just gotta realize situation to be aggressive and to just carry out your job.

So we’ve discovered Freeman is a just not inform on injury type guy.

Back to back weeks someone has been out and beat had no idea and the press release just completely left it out

I am taking it as dig as Rees. No forward motion, not complicated because the lack of motion or variance in offense. But I hated the Rees offense so I may be reading into it what I hope he means.
