Yep, he was the 5th leading rusher while Estime was the leading rusher during the Preseason. Almost forgot that Estime is still 21 and also younger than the entire RB room.It was an odd landing spot for him to begin with. I don’t recall Sean Payton ever really having a “bell-cow” type back in his offense. He likes more of the pass catching threats.
That being said, Payton just drafted a converted QB turned RB out of UCF, DJ Harvey, in the second round this past April.
Exactly why he’s a no show in CincyHe’s in Houston now

It's a numbers game, right? May not be a fit for one team, but a perfect fit for another. I suspect he'll get picked up. If not the Broncos may put him on the practice squad. The NFL is so dumb.
Yeah I dunno. I suppose NFL GMs know more about roster management than I do 🤷♂️, and maybe some other guy is a better fit for the Broncos' scheme. It just seems like when you have good football players on your team, you should keep them around. It's a numbers game, right? May not be a fit for one team, but a perfect fit for another. That's crazy because I felt the same way about him being a Steeler. I'd love him to be a Giant even though we drafted Skattebo (which I still don't understand)I feel like he should be a Steeler, and I'm not even a Steeler fan (Although I was a big Bus guy).
Bottomline they believe in an injury prone RB and it was a really bad decision. They get rid of the most productive returning back and their most youthful back at the same time🤔🤔, I'd literally say good riddance.Coaches are so arrogant and players are available they use their system and find players they think can execute it. You can’t do it you are gone. That’s the NFL.
Not me. But if I was a Broncos fan, I would be livid. Nothing about what you said was different before he was drafted. Wasted pick.I mean we all know Estime doesn't offer a ton on 3rd down, and he fumbled twice in 75 carries last year. Is anyone at all surprised that Sean Payton doesn't have a ton of use for a guy like that?
Yep. They treat most players as interchangeable and disposable parts. It's kinda gross (especially considering the injury rate). One of the things I've always loved about college football is how both a program and its fans are invested in a player and you can watch them develop over four years (or six if you follow recruiting). One reason why I'm out on the NFL is that the grass is always greener. Players get a year maybe two to develop and then are cast off for some rookie if they aren't stars. And even if they do develop sometimes they are replaced.
2nd year 5th round picks aren't locks to make the team. Audric will get another chance with another team, but for the sake of his career he needs to hold onto the ball more and show some more pass pro skills. Not me. Agree on his fumbles. However, disagree on the draft. Big difference between locks and significant misfit. Little chance that was ever going to work out.2nd year 5th round picks aren't locks to make the team. Texans could use him then. Good pass blocker and can catch the ball. Will make the broncos look like idiots. F Peyton.Exactly why he’s a no show in Cincy
I heard they were moving him to linebacker.I wonder what that means for AJ Dillon. Either would be likely be complimentary to Shipley if Barkley went down.

I agree, except depending on which numbers we believe, Audric is up to 20 pounds heavier than the average NFL RB, so he does have at least one thing going for him.You really need to be great at something to last in the league / get a multi-year deal. Audric doesn’t have elite size or speed, isn’t great at catching the ball out of the backfield, and doesn’t hit a hole like Kyren. Sucks but there’s just so many damn good options for limited spots.

I could see Audric going to the UFL and if he performs well, making it back into the league if he desires. He just needs some better tape and reps at the “pro” level.Sucks, but you know what? Audric has made $1.1 million (plus whatever NIL he got at Notre Dame), is barely 22 years old, and still has his health. Maybe come back to school, finish your degree, and go pro in something else.
(I know that's how these guys are wired but I'm surprised more don't just say fuck it after the NFL does them like this.)
How many people go from being drafted in the NFL, to the UFL, back to an active roster in the NFL? (Serious question. Maybe it happens, IDK.)I could see Audric going to the UFL and if he performs well, making it back into the league if he desires. He just needs some better tape and reps at the “pro” level.
Especially at running back. Just doesnt seem real likelyHow many people go from being drafted in the NFL, to the UFL, back to an active roster in the NFL? (Serious question. Maybe it happens, IDK.)
