FWIW, MGo thinks it’s a foregone conclusion he goes elsewhere. I’ve been browsing over there for a few hits of dopamine this season and a thread the other day pretty much said he gone

What a weird recruitment, where everyone is sure he'll go some place else. I feel like it's always the other way around.

IMO, it' because he plays his cards close to his vest and doesn't know what he wants. A lot of people look at his lack of recent ND visit as a bad sign of legitimate interest. But really, there is a turnoff for every school and I think at the end of the day he'll just pick the place where he feels the most comfortable and thinks he'll get the best development. I expect that to be Michigan, but it could be literally anywhere because no one around him tips their hand. He definitely hasn't told Michigan that he is coming or we would know.

Not sure about that, both are 2-4

I was joking but MSU beat Michigan at The Outhouse and MSU has a first year head coach compared to Jim in year 6. I would say MSU is less of a dumpster fire at the moment but both are dumpsters that are on fire.

This is exactly what I think too.

Funny thought I had about the 2021 RB Recruitment

Way back in the beggining of the Shipley recruitment, posters (probably not staff) joked about how he'd be a starter day one because "we have no RBs".

Now, the same cycle, we have Edwards who is surely looking at Kyren, Tyree, Cbo and Diggs with some Qs.

Funny how a season changes things so quickly.

I think the biggest thing will be if Lance Taylor is at ND in the fall. If our coaching staff is stable (a big if) I think this may be a 2 horse race.

He's deciding in less than a week and a EE I believe. Also Fall? That's like 9 months away??

Lance Taylor’s name has been linked to So Alabama. I think he would need “assurances”

I said in the State of the '21 Recruiting thread that I wouldn't post in here so as not to jinx it but I'm calling it. I never believed in Edwards until a month ago and that has passed.

And it's a bummer too. I really enjoyed our month together.

So why don't we meet over in the Estime thread in 15 minutes and bring your best taco pics.

My complete guess would be he doesn't want UM because of dumpster fire. He doesn't want ND because of experience or everything he's been told about the experience. But...he wants to stay close to home. What do you do.

University of Detroit?

I still think we are in here. But if he goes elsewhere I also don't think he has Shipley'd us. Or McGregor'd us.
He hasn't said anything flirtation - unlike those too.

I feel like this is one of those where he ends up at like Oklahoma and everyone's initially surprised then after a bit, not really.

Has Oklahoma had a really good running back under Lincoln Riley? The last one I remember is Mixon, who played under Stoops.

Announcing 12/16 3PM from his HS according to head coach Ron Bellamy.

Two negatives there: The head coach with scUM ties dropping the details on the announcement, and it taking place at the dreaded high school near State U. Or I'm just looking for reasons a player of his talent is just going to default to Michigan.

How often does ND land top 50 players by default?

I don't follow this stuff closely but this has the feel of McGregor all over again. The Michigan insiders didn't seem to be in on that one either.

This does not feel like McGregor to me. It feels like a Top 50 player who would be going to Michigan, but is hesitant to do so because they are having big problems this year that may be pointing to implosion.

I don't think he's been committed for months or anything like that.

I think this is a recruitment with all the signs pointing to UM but the UM insiders aren't projecting confidence so people want to will this into existence for ND.

doubt it, they're gettting Wheaton who is on of the few RB's this cycle rated higher. Pretty dumb move for a top 50 guy to pick the same school as the best in the class.

I just assume Georgia. They seem to win a lot of these types of battles. Michigan would make no sense. He has no idea who his coach would be and they are going to be a bad football team for the short term at a minimum.
