ND's number is probably 4-5 guys and we'll see if they expand the board a little. They've done an amazing job getting a lot of their prospects on campus and I hope it continues into the season which so far hasn't happened. There have been reports of Rucci trending to Penn State, Tengwall trending elsewhere, Crippen decommitting, Spindler leaning Michigan, and Dellinger not being a take anymore. However, I don't think ND whiffs on all of those guys and I think some unoffered guys could pop up in the near future. I really hope David Davidkov gets an offer soon and doesn't come in too late. I think he'd be a great addition to the OLine room. My dream class would be...

Nolan Rucci, Landon Tengwall, Blake Fisher, and David Davidkov

Plan B's would be Wyatt Milum, Trey Zuhn, Drew Kendall, Eli Sutton, Rocco Spindler and Greg Crippen

It isn't that I think Milum can't play cause if he wants in I'd take him in a heart beat, but I think ND's actually got a shot with the guys above and that would be an insane class.

Part of me thinks they already have, but I haven't done enough asking around to confirm because he isn't good enough for me to care about as a '21 recruit.
Ouch lol

There's nothing to gain by making an announcement or leaking word that his offer has been rescinded.

I don't dab with the kids these days and yeet around their slang, but I think this is what we call a "ghosting"?

All I'm going to say is that if this is ND's decision, they better sign 5 elite OL prospects in 2021, otherwise this is foolish, like every other time they either slow-play a good prospect or try to get cute.

I think it is more of a lack of faith in the kid keeping his word and they dont want to be left holding an empty bag.

This is not a big deal at all. If people are going to find something wrong with this then maybe it's time to find another hobby.

If Crippen wants to be at Notre Dame then that's awesome, but when you commit to ND and this coaching staff then you're making a commitment that's absolute. If it isn't then the staff doesn't bother messing around with you and can move on to cover their opening. Maybe it has lost them an opportunity at a prospect or two in the past but I much prefer this method than most of the other method's employed by coaching staffs around the country. I'm across the street from a school that's had 32 decommitments in the last two cycles!!! They are in the process of overhauling their entire recruiting process because UM is struggling with that problem.

Related to Crippen, I'd call him up and tell him we're recruiting him as an uncommitted dude and now he's down on the list because as you can see on my post #123, they've got a bunch of better dudes they're recruiting right now. He had a spot, took it, and messed around with it and that's coming back to bite him. I'm really not worried about ND's OLine recruiting right now because its flying as high as any program in the country at the moment. 2021 should follow the trend.

ND isn't recruiting him because he's not that good and he went back on what he told the staff when he committed. Really that simple. I'm changing his tag because he actually hasn't had an actionable offer for months now and won't be part of the class baring some drastic change.

So what if they screw up one time? No big deal in the scoop of things even if they screwed up

Besides, ND has shown that recruiting 4 star OL that produce like 3 star OL isnt that uncommon. So clearly rankings arent that important when it comes to OL now arent they??

.9746 4* Blake Fisher
.9692 4* Tosh Baker
.9578 4* Zeke Correll
.9472 4* Quinn Carroll
.9390 4* Michael Carmody
.9254 4* Andrew Kristofic
.9242 4* John Olmstead

There isn’t a team recruiting offensive lineman better than ND in the entire country over the last two cycles. Maybe Georgia can have a say in this and Clemson’s class this cycle is great but ND is as good as it gets in terms of star power, recruiting rankings and getting numbers. 2021 will be another good test cause every year it resets but they are off to a great start with Blake Fisher and I’m really confident in Jeff Quinn’s ability to recruit.

Freeman and Sampson both do not believe he ends up at ND. Pete said something about “changes internally” is what would need to happen for him to stick with ND. Not sure what the official word is on why this will probably not happen, but yet he’s stayed “committed” for so long. Even his twitter bio has him saying he is committed.

What do changes internally mean? Someone would need to transfer?

Sounds more like coaching, but what do I know. Prolly just offering a vague excuse to justify his inevitable flip.

I asked about transfers but I think it could also mean medical schollies as well. Who knows . . .

The real question is—what came first: Crippen’s decision to visit Michigan after he committed or the coaching staff’s decision to ghost Crippen.

If it’s the former, then Crippen lost his guaranteed scholly the second he stepped foot in Ann Arbor and we decided we had better options on board.

If it’s the latter, we realized we had better options, but we’re really bad at revoking schollies like the big boys in the SEC. So Crippen is just hanging on by a thread in the hopes we circle back and visiting other schools to keep his options open.

No info but my gut says it's the former.

If kids are going to flip; flip sooner than later. Is he staying committed to ND as a backup plan? Kelly needs to do what Weis did, if recruits are looking elsewhere that is what Weis did.

He is the only committed not visiting in March.
