The only reason Michigan's defense "held ND to 3 points" is the typical BK safe play with a lead. We took the pedal off the gas and trusted our defense would protect the lead and they did. Michigan's defense had very little to do with keeping them in the game.

So, just so we're all on the same page. This is the same Shea Patterson that strong armed schools into giving his brother a job for his signature. Also, the same Shea Patterson that lied his ass off about what went down at Ole Miss and tried to play victim after they got caught. Sweet role model. He's CEO of Douche Inc.

Correct. It's funny how quick a "die-hard ND fan" can overlook the stench that Patterson has given out around the NCAA over the course of his career. The kid is an entitled punk but he's giving JJ attention so he's a fine role model now. Good look.

I love how Kelly and staff are approaching recruiting. I have zero issue with him "using" JJ to get Buchner. The staff identified him as their guy and did what they had to do to get him. In this day when it comes to recruiting, outside of paying players, I'm all about doing what has to be done to be successful. At the end of the day, Kelly will be judged by what happens on the field.

I'm all about supporting your players, but not many on the board are going to be thrilled reading that comment.

I hope that JJ finds success at whatever school he goes to. If that school is Michigan, I hope they go winless while he puts up good numbers and stays healthy.

I've heard in this thread just how good JJ is. Granted scouts and colleges know a great deal more than I do.

I saw JJ play in last year's state title game. I came away unimpressed. Most of his passing yards were from screens or check down passes to his backs, which resulted in significant yards after the catch. He struggled connecting on mid distance or long passes.

I know this is one game, but that was my only experience watching him play and against good competition.

Notre Dame made a mistake. That is apparent now and will continue to be apparent over the course of the next 6 years to me. I don’t have to blindly follow everything Kelly does nor will I. Fitz seemed like the perfect guy to help him focus the ND angst.

Although if I remember correctly, McMahon, Tomczak and Harbaugh all wanted (or didn't get) ND offers. All 3 being good Catholic boys. McMahon was very open about wanting to play for ND. Would have sat for 2 years behind Montana and erase the Rusty Lisch return and the Blair Kiel era, handing it off to Steve Buerlein on the way out the door. Would have like him with Skoronski in evanston.
