I believe he did his mission in Raleigh, so he didn’t go to a country where he wouldn’t have access to a gym and nutrition.
I'd expect while he is missioning he wont have time to go to the gym religiously as I'd expect all of his waking moments dedicated to the mission. Hopefully Im wrong.

I think missions are pretty accommodating. This stuff is all worked out at this point. The issue is just not getting pushed in a hyper-competitive, elite athletic environment.

I know Im in the minority here but I'd rather not use football schollys on Mormon missionaries. I have always felt this way and none of them have been productive or even lasted at Notre Dame. Im truly drawing a blank on one who took his mission and came back to be a meaningful contributor.

Second this.

He was actually showing flashes back in '21. It'd be nice to get another player at Viper, even if it'll take a year to shake the rust off

I know most have written him off, but I was pretty high on him as a recruit and a freshman. ND website says he had 4 tackles against navy as a freshman. I would love for him to be a player for us

My concern for next year is conditioning. A few months ago, someone (ISD or II, can't remember) said that 2024 would be like a redshirt year for Kia so he can get back into football shape after being away for 2 years.

I like it, stash him, build him, unleash him as a 32 year old with a truck payment and alimony on those dumb bag chasing kids. He'll have grown man strength and problems.

Has to be weird being in school, leaving for two years and coming back. "Hey, when did they replace the Dunkin Donuts with a Starbucks?"

The ISD report indicated he’s been training pretty hard and has gotten a little taller……also up to 230 lbs. I realize that football shape is different but based on the info the trainer conveyed, it sounds like he’s kept up his regimen.

So no repeat of the Chris Badger deal. Might be the first successful LDS mission return for ND football.

And Badger is the only non successful one as far as I can remember. People were extrapolating a whole lot of conclusions over the past decade just due to that one guy.
