So.... anyone still gonna watch?
All the Pyne fans will be.

But in all seriousness, I wasn't too excited for Tyler on Saturday since he'd have extremely limited play options and even more limited WR corp to through too (especially with the WRs being cut in half between two teams).

Again, I said "too" excited. Still wished we could have seen him.

Didn't he have an ankle injury during the season last year that kept him out post-VT for a bit?

I hope this isn't one of those chronic "sprain my ankle every time the grass looks at me funny" injuries. That would suck.

As a former soccer player , DAMNNNN do ankle injuries scare me, because of what you just said. A 3rd degree ankle sprain in HighSchool stayed with me all the way through college soccer . Would sometimes tie my shoe wrong and somehow my ankle would start hurting again

Considering I'm going to the game, pretty bummed, but also excited to see what kind of game Angeli has.

Plus I get to tailgate in 80 degree weather, so taking this crap news in stride.

Does anybody think Buchner can make it thru the season without getting hurt? Good news is Pyne has to realize he's going to play this year, whether he wins the job or not.

Fair question; I think the coaches will change his mindset as a runner if he's the starter. More emphasis on sliding and running for the sidelines rather than him trying to maximize his limited opportunities like last year and lowering his shoulder into contact. He had a lot to prove last year and he's a competitive kid.

But I agree, that's probably why Pyne sticks around at least through '22 if Buchner is named starter. Once snap away for a mobile QB running a lot of option and RPO, that's not a long-shot for playing time.

Good for Pyne or the transfer they bring in

Grade 3’s can last your entire life as far as permanent damage. Most people with a grade 3 will have diminished movement from the typical 45/25. Inside grade 3’s are brutal.
But Buchner did not have anything more then a twisted ankle. He was practicing the following Monday. We call that a “tweak,” when you feel pain but are perfectly fine the next day.

During the VT game he was jogging after throwing an INT, nobody near him, and collapsed in pain grabbing his ankle. He walked off & was practicing on Monday, so I don’t think he was actually “injured.”
He missed time earlier in the season with a hamstring he injured running down the sideline untouched out of bounds. So two non-contact injuries last season. One in HS, & now one on the stairs…

As somebody with a double digit number of right ankle sprains I'm not concerned about it. I have a susceptibility to injury but I've never been hurt when properly braced up and my ankle works fine.

I am definitely familiar with spraining my ankle while walking down stairs.
