I watched the tape, and strangely, until the last segment, my reaction was "He is consistently throwing high." He was not consistently under throwing on any level.

I do think he lacked zip, but that is one of the few issues that can actually be trained out of you. Get stronger. Use your legs. It's the arm motion issues that worry me, and that looked fine.

First camp (I'm assuming) since the pandemic. There's the rust factor. Competing against the nation's best, I would have some butterflies if I were in his shoes too.

If the negative performances continue maybe there's cause for concern, but a knee jerk reaction fresh out of a 3+ month shutdown is a bit much.

Yup, agreed. Sucks that he had a less than stellar showing on day 1....let’s see how things go with the rest of the week. Not gonna panic.......... yet.

If I'm being honest I don't have the same excitement about Buchner that I did about PJ. The throwing motion/angle is really concerning to me. It doesn't stand out as much in his game film but in a camp setting it looks so weird. Plus the balls lacked zip and a few came out ducky. I am hoping it's just rust but you would think that would affect all of the other QBs too.

I have lot of faith in him long term but don't agree with the Day 1 starter hype.

I agree it almost looks like he can't grip the ball fully

Two days to go....if he doesn't step up he will definitely drop in the rankings. 3 star is unlikely, but outside the top 100 most likely.
