Not sure where to post this but I think if Carr leaves after this year, the staff will roll with Teddy or Grubbs. Most likely Teddy. The situation will be similar to Carr taking over and the schedule in 2027 is easier than 2026. The offense should return a ton and the defense depending who goes or stays should still be elite. Also, the 5 for 5 will have even more options in the portal to fill holes where needed.

I think a lot of this decision may come down to what we have coming back and what our expectations are for next season - which we won’t know until January.

If we are, again, a legit title contender, I wouldn’t be surprised if we buy the best QB available in the portal. If next year feels like a bit more of a reset, it makes sense to build with the guys we have. But we shall see.

Well I would assume the majority of the OL back minus maybe one guy. RB only guy who could leave early is Williams and not sure if there will be enough tape on him to leave early. WR everyone will have eligibility left, same with TE.

So to summarize: if Carr leaves, another ND QB will take his place.

Offense and defense might return lots of good players, depending on who stays and leaves.

The transfer portal gives us options to fill roster holes.

3 hot takes right there

It’s the type of post we all look forward to waking up to and gives you a little hint of confidence and happiness that only 08 can provide. Hard hitting top flight posting? I’d say yes.

I agree, the University of Notre Dame, will, field a football team next year. There will college athletes out there playing the game. They will spend money using NIL.

I think with the way Freeman has ND recruiting and the high end depth that this program now has with the easing of the transfers into the program that they will use the portal very little. However I expect they go big game hunting to add a few studs if the youngsters need a little more marinating to fully take over the position.

According to Singer the offense won the scrimmage and it wasn’t close
How?! We don’t have any wide receivers and Carr is basically passing to himself!

On a serious note, best case outcome for the prospects of the season. Even if the defense was limited some, the offense should win and they did. Tells me they can execute when the opportunities are there (if reports are all true).
