Oregon is the the original Texas Tech - one mega booster trying to buy a championship with his money.

My opinion is also clouded by living on the West Coast and despising Oregon/Oregon fans IRL, but I hope they never win a championship. They can buy anything else they want - just not sports glory.

I went to college with someone from Oregon and was a huge UO fan. He was definitely the most annoying "fan" ever. I have despised anything Oregon related since. I hope they never win anything because of it.

I guess I have no particular beef with Oregon or Ole Miss. But Ole Miss doesn't have the horses. So... go Ducks?

Personally, I would want Ohio State, Bama, or Georgia, since that would be a “status quo” result.

Someone else wins, you have another at the top of the pile that “got it done” when ND is still looking at a title from almost 40 years ago.

Honestly, had it been the Gator Bowl or some other game with a smidge of dignity, I think a lot more likely we'd have accepted the bowl invite. I appreciate Pop Tarts' effort to stand out amid so many mid bowls, but it's hard to swallow if you actually believe you should be playing in the Rose Bowl next week.

This is a reference I doubt many people will get but for anyone who watched New Japan Pro Wrestling & remembers the storyline of Tetsuya Naito and his hatred of the IWGP Intercontinental Championship. He wasn’t able to win the promotions world championship and in storyline he hated their secondary championship so when he won he threw the belt around and even once on his way to the ring here it so hard it was smashed against the ring post. The wrestling fan in me would’ve loved it if we had played in this bowl won it then just threw the trophy down & didn’t claim it. I know that wouldn’t happen, I know by doing that there would prolly be consequences that wouldn’t be good for the program but still it’s something I would’ve been happy to see.

watching the patsies Tulane and JMU get worked and have poor ratings also made my heart warm

The contortion the Irish haters continually twist themsevles into also makes me smile

By the way Oregon is not going to win the NC unless about five other teams are disqualified and they do not have to play anyone.

I disagree. The hate hasn’t been so called good hate like hating Miami, FSU or the Cowboys. It’s truthfully been a pretty shitastic few weeks as a Notre Dame football fan

Man what a memorable game that I bet all those players & fans remember vividly.
