We had 16 correct predictions at ND 21+ last week, the loyal believers who didn't let the NIU debacle deter their faith that the Irish would roll into West Lafeyette and derail that B1G bottom feeder.

Five posters picked up their second point in the young season, while 11 others joined the standings with their first correct prediction. Standings below.

Miami will likely be a better test than Purdue was last week. The boys were fired up and angry after the home embarrassment, and it showed. the Red Hawks are defending MAC Champions and have already played two quality non-conference opponents in NW and Cincy.

Still, I think Freeman and Co want to get the bad taste out of their mouths from the last time they took this field. The Defense plays lights out, while they offense has some big plays and some stalled drives, but the Irish get a clunky-feeling cover in the end.

NIU went how I thought Purdue would go, sans the loss. And, Purdue went how I thought NIU would go. But, we’ll keep trying, lol.

Another stingy defense and big rushing day for ND leads to a 42-13 win.

This team and more importantly, Freeman has learned. I expect them to take every week seriously and be focused. This is a bloodbath with 18 and 8 playing most of the second half.

It’s hard to make sense of this team. Not a sleepy game, but Miami is much better coached than Purdue.

I think we get more TE action this week as all four had meaningful catches last week. Maybe a play action pass even! This team owes the home crowd a beat down after the NIU embarrassment. Need to come out mad and hungry. Every game is part of our resume. If we manage to win out and lose a decent game to a high ranked USC team the rest of our games will be analyzed and we cannot afford to have a squeaker. We need to beat the spread every game.
