Two rushing attempts the entire preseason. He scored on one of them. Be that as it may, what are we talking about, exactly?

Not talking about strictly running. His inability to drop back and make reads is a problem. Always on the move after a second or two usually leads to inconsistent production. Almost every pass is a scramble drill.

Mahomes and Rodgers have been the only guys with that play style and still be elite.

I also never said he couldn’t do it, just making the point that the odds are against him.

I haven't seen a great deal of concern being expressed based on the 20 pass attempts he made in the preseason. Rodney Harrison and Tony Dungy did some podcast and kept talking about how he's a rookie. Yeah. No shit. That can't be disputed. Brilliant analysis.

There is a lot to like. He can move, create, extend plays and that's within structure. Nothing we've seen was perfect. He's a rookie. It's difficult not to be excited about what we've seen so far. The arm talent and the dynamic play making ability is absolutely there. Of course nothing is guaranteed. He's also not guaranteed to be a failure either.

Agreed that there's no way to know what he will become.

Eventually he'll have to play within a system. Obviously if he can do that then the sky is the limit.

I never really understood the Sean Clifford draft pick last year in the 5th round. Lot of people thought they could've waited 2 rounds or even after the draft. I thought Michael Pratt would be a fun player to watch develop, but they clearly didn't like the optics behind J Love with either of them. Both looked very underwhelming this preseason.

Wouldn't be surprised if they lock in Pratt for the practice squad and let Clifford go. I was still hoping they'd sign a guy like Tannehill to elevate the backup QB situation, but I guess they'll see what QB whisperer Tom Clements can do with Willis.

Complete opposite of the 2020 draft. Crazy how one class can be so loaded and another is just a swing and a miss across the board (with one late-round exception in Purdy)

(1) Joe Burrow
(5) Tua Tagovailoa
(6) Justin Herbert
(26) Jordan Love
(53) Jalen Hurts

I'll even throw in UFA Tyler Huntley who has been a very steady backup QB, now with the Browns.

Similarly but even more unbelievably, the Raiders are contemplating dumping Tyree Wilson, their 1st Rd pick from 2023, 7th overall.

Idk, how close they are to actually doing it, but it's a discussion. He was hurt some of last year, but has sucked when healthy.

They're never gonna change.

He was considered a good prospect but I just never saw it. Terrible for Raiders fans.

Man they are picking on Stanley for this OL in the backfield penalty.I understand the rule but man they are being picky.

SF beat the Lions last year because their left tackle was literally lining up 2 yards behind the ball on pass plays.

Chris Collinsworth trolling everyone by doing a Lamar Jackson love affair in place of the usual Mahomes praise?

"Jackson is the only reason Baltimore is in this game... he's doing everything he can. Must be exhausted."

Yeah he's running around and looks athletic. As usual. But the reason the Ravens are in the game is because the Chiefs have settled for two field goals and Mahomes committed an unusual error. Give me a break with the "Superman" storylines in week one.

I think that Stanley was called for 3 BS calls bc of the new rule. Maybe 4. Apparently, he’s just going to need to figure it out.

First game of the year, be interesting to see how the rest of weekend goes.

KC -3 and Pacheco to score are tonight’s bets.

The new kickoff rule is a complete failure. Not a single return.

Not sure if serious, but I think we should hold off our judgement until we see a game where we don't have two all-pro level kickers who send the ball out the back of the end zone nearly every kick

I see that the NFL/refs want the Chiefs to 3 peat. Holy shit. How many times does Jawaan Taylor need to false start before they start calling it?

Anybody notice Xavier Worthy or was he just a blur on the TV amongst all the new rules and referees doing referee things?
