If it’s Pratt or Card and we are waiting on Card’s graduation to clarify itself and Pratt to play in the Cotton Bowl, we are gonna need significantly more patience than ready to use.

I'd guess if he portals, it won't be until after their bowl game. Can ND afford to wait til then without some major backchanneling?

Looking at his stats, he's improved quite a bit each year which you like to see.

Card. I was sorta on the fence but my dad is friends with a big money Texas booster guy who basically said he's better than Ewers and would've won the competition had it been fair. If that's even remotely close to being true then he's exactly the kind of dual threat QB that can take ND's offense up a notch with our OL/running game.

If we don't get Card, it'll be because an SEC team made an offer to good to refuse or admissions fucked up and I really hope it's the former not the latter.
There were a ton of Texas fans that have been vocal about Card being better and if it wasn't for the money he would've won the competition

Pratt I could stand to learn more but strikes me as slightly less physical tools than Card (arm and legs). But you get the experience, flip side that is also against lower competition.

Looks like good in 2021 vs OU and Ole Miss but did not fare well this year versus KSU. Didn’t play 2021 UC.
The tape against UCF reminds me of the Trevor Lawrence Alabama film. It was an epic performance by the Clemson WRs (and RBs), TL literally had to make 1 hard pass all game. So not sure what to take away from that.

Haha! Good thing Texas doesn't fall in love with their backups like everyone else.

Come to thing of it, wasn't UT record-setting QB Major Applewhite benched in one of the most shameless promises to a 5-star mega-recruit ever (the Chris Sims debacle)? Maybe there is hope.

Just compare Card & Ewers' respective stat lines from this season.

I like the upside of Card. I think he could really blossom into something in the right place. With that said, it'd be really hard to say no to the proven production of a guy like Pratt. Especially when there are throws like these all over the place.

1. Card
2. Pratt
3. Leary - would be #2 without his injury concern and the possibility of missing the spring

@StPaul_Irish this is the most difficult to process stack ranking I've seen

Ah, of course. I'm guessing we haven't met. Welcome to my brain.

Leary is my first choice. If reports are saying Leary isn't a take, then Pratt is my choice.

1) Leary
2) Pratt
3) Armstrong
4) Card

Ugh, just like I tell my wife. Try to keep up lol

I sure hope so. As the starting qb you’d have to be a real douche to leave your team before the bowl game.

Will have to wait awhile for Pratt. Plays in January
There is certainly a balance or sliding scale that includes a lot more than just who we think is the best. If there was a world in which back channel communications confirmed Pratt to ND, he'd be my guy. Without that information, I would be very happy with Card.

You had better be sure Pratt's on his way, though. If ND passed on their other options to wait on him and he changed his mind before anything became binding that would be very bad.

SIAP. Didn't really follow them this year, other than the fact that they lost a bunch in a row to end the season. But he sure lit us up last year

O/U January 8th for ND to have their guy at QB? Picked the 8th because that is when Joseph became official. I am taking the under because I think ND gets Card, but after that would suggest Pratt to me.

I think that's a pretty fair date. Especcially w/ Card wrapping up his degree (fingers crossed). Card is a high accedemic kid and is looking for a MBA program so I think ND is looking good rn, but based off all the horror strores in there I sure as hell hope there's no "whoopies, our bad" on the Texas Admin side of things.

Hmm. Spencer Sanders?

Dude has played a lot of football. And if you can’t beat ‘em, hire ‘em?
