Could you capitalize the first letter of their names for us too?![]()
LMAOyou capitalists and your capitals
Because I'm mentally unstable and have had a bad day at work, I wanted even MORE pain in my life, and decided to mess around with 247's class calculator.
If you subbed Moore for Minchey, and added Keon Keeley, ND would still "only" be at 302.24, which would be good for just a slight bump up above UGA in the recruiting rankings to #2 behind Bama.
And even though ND would have more 4 AND 5-star prospects than Bama, they would still be 7 points behind the Tide, as the quality of Bama's high-end 4-star recruits is insane.
Add Freeling why you're at it.Because I'm mentally unstable and have had a bad day at work, I wanted even MORE pain in my life, and decided to mess around with 247's class calculator.

You’re a real bitch for this one Lion

On the flip side, even if they lose Bowen, it's still a top 5 class per the composite.
Just spent (wasted) time doing the 247 Class Calculator for each of the current top 10 teams in the rankings. The schools behind us are in prime position for a few higher targets that are not committed. If Bowen stays, it's likely we will remain in the Top 5. If he flips, we will get passed, but would probably still finish in the 6 - 8 range.
We currently sit at 290.23 - in each of the previous three cycles, that would have been good enough for sixth.
Man, imagine if we had been able to actually take the shackles off Freeman and let him harness NIL. We would likely have another 5* at QB and DE, probably the two most important positions in modern football. Maybe ND needs to be told that it really won't matter if the NCAA starts punishing this stuff because if we win a natty, people will remember that whether the NCAA recognizes the title or not. Hell, the NCAA already recognizes another 11 championships that ND doesn't. For every one the NCAA vacates, just add one of the 11 we don't recognize to the 11 we do.Just spent (wasted) time doing the 247 Class Calculator for each of the current top 10 teams in the rankings.
IF every team in the top 10 gets everyone in the top 300 who 247 has them leading for (50% or higher), and we keep Bowen, the rankings will look like this (these do not include any projections of the 3-4 guys in the top 100 or so who did not have a clear leader):
1. Bama (315.68)
2. Georgia (305.91)
3. Texas (299.82)
4. OSU (297.35)
5. LSU (296.03)
6. Miami (295.03)
7. ND (289.23)
8. OU (286.66)
9. Tenn (276.33)
10. Clem (275.55)
If Bowen flips to OU, then they'd jump us to #7 at 294.03, and ND would fall to #8 at 282.42 (which would rank ahead of all of BK's classes except for 2013 (284.77).

I'd like to see the players be open about what they're currently making... unless it's a bad amount.Do we think Freeman can ever convince them to do it.
Do we think Freeman can ever convince them to do it.
Well they need to hurry the f*ck up and do it already.I get why Notre Dame doesn’t want to be out front on NIL for recruits, the way A&M and Tennessee have been. There are very good reasons why throwing money at high school kids is basically bad news for all involved. (Except the agents and the uncles, it’s good for them.)
But if pretty much every other major program in college football is doing some version of upfront NIL, and no one is being punished for it, then we soon will too. The people who run Notre Dame are not stupid. They don’t need Freeman to “convince” them, they just need to figure out the “Notre Dame way” to go about it.
Singer put in predictions for the Smith brothers out of CT. One is a Top 100, the other Top 200 DL.
I’m sure they do. ROI has been their calling card.ND needs to get to a point where they start calculating lifetime value for players, simulating different scenarios for them.
It’s only short-sighted if you take the money for a less-good situation (w/regard to coaching, development, education, whatever), or see the $500K as the big prize and don’t work hard.I'm not sure that taking 500k+ now should be considered short sighted lol. Too negative of a connotation. As has been mentioned, it's life changing money to the vast, vast majority of people.
It's really not hard. It’s only short-sighted if you take the money for a less-good situation (w/regard to coaching, development, education, whatever), or see the $500K as the big prize and don’t work hard.
In other words there’s nothing stopping a kid from taking NIL and being serious about school and their football development. It’s not either/or. But all other things being relatively equal why wouldn’t a kid take the money? Which is why we need to figure out a way to be competitive on that front while still offering all the other good stuff Notre Dame offers.

So does this means that Brian Kelly out recruited Freeman????
